You guys may not believe this, but if you're caught doing that in the "Nanny" State, Victoria, Aus, the Police class you as a "Hoon", & your car will be impounded for 28 days.
Absolutely ridiculous, in my opinion.

Yeah, the "Lewis Hamilton" incident was a typical example...and the reason for Mark Weber at the time, referring to Victoria as, "The Nanny State".....We are being run by left wing, bicycle riding, "do-gooders".....most of whom probably drive a Prius.

Where in Melbourne do you live? A buddy of mine who I paid a visit a couple years back lived on Brunswick St. in Fitzroy. Loved it there, even if the streets were govurned by a bunch of Nannys

I'm on the other side of Town, but I know Brunswick St very well....it's quite a "trendy" area, with lots of great cafes.....some lovely old housing there too.
