Internal warmth?

Hello,

Yesterday I was having fun with an M6 (love how fast my C63 is) and the temp outside was around 22 here in Montreal in the late afternoon.

After the fun has ended, I was stepping out of the car I realized huge "heat waves" coming out of the engine, which is normal due to its size.

However, what wasn't all that normal, was the interior of the car. It was significantly warmer than outside temperature even though I had the windows open at all time.

Is this a common thing? Summer hasn't even really kicked in and I am worried that the heat is conserved inside the car... Someone please correct me if I am wrong...

Thanks

It might be heat coming from the transmission tunnel and ambient heat from the powertrain internal coming in through the HVAC system...this happens to me during Spring/Summer runs at the drag strip.
