Jim, you might be able to help with my Q. Can you get the TCU tune for the standard gearbox?? If so will there be any benefits or is it for the built box only?
Thanks

Haha not a challenge I genuinely love planes! (So Im curious) Grew up in a tri-pacer moved up to turboprops. But just like Propain I would like more published data, maybe a couple videos etc. I would love to buy some wiestec products in the future when I have the money so more information is much appreciated!

JR - It was a 767-300ER not a 737....
Dodger - I know very little about most things but if I know I am right look out!!!
VaclavSV - no worries as I know you are curious. The hanger had a GIV which has since been upgraded to a GV.
I think that Keith has said it best and is the voice of reason. I just wanted to get a rise out of propain which obviously worked!
Anyways, off now - will chat after easter.

GIV is a sweet plane. I have had the pleasure in flying in one a few times. What year? With the price of that toy alone I wonder why you would bother messing with a scrap like the CLK BS. Sky is the limit for you it would seem. No pun intended.

I honestly don't know the answer to that question, if I knew I would tell you. I would just give Weistec a call and tell them exactly what you're looking for and see what they say. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Takes a lot more to get a rise out of me. I think it was the other way around.

Also FYI, Earl owns a 599, fhe CLK is just one of his toys. Don't judge a book by its cover.

This is not a statement but rather a question:
Everyone with a Weistec SC would you still say that they are in a (advanced) development phase?
(if not, i would imagine that they would be all over it by now.)
Some people would love some more hard data on the track / strip / street.
Now as for the bickering..
The lack of more detailed data will make some people question generalized facts. There is and should be nothing wrong with asking for it. Some people love some high level numbers and some love the details.
Please guys understand that people are different and when you attack them for their choice/approach in validating what is important to them, thats when things get derailed on both sides.
Its pointless to poke at a wasps nest, even if you have a bee suit on.
the only ones winning is the bee keeper!
ps. yes its late night and I am enjoying a few Ardbeg 25yo's.

No, not for 10 psi, stock internals will work just fine. I believe the stock internals can handle even more boost than that with the 3.0L on stock internals but again, confirm all of this with Weistec. As I stated earlier in this thread Earls car racked up several miles over the winter with the 3.0L with stock internals and the new transmission. It was not until Feb. that my motor was built and then the entire package(3.0L, internals, trans, etc.) was road tested all together. I am running significantly higher boost than 10psi . Earl and I are pushing things to the limit so we wanted to cover all the bases.

RENNtech looks like a teardown and clutch packs only.
Weistec is cryogenically hardening everything plus the clutch packs.

Out Of Control!!
Fact: Earls car has been running around southern California with this transmission in it since about November of 2011 racking up alot of street miles and countless trips to the dyno, in addition to the trans the car was also rolling around with a larger 3.0L blower and other mods on it making more HP and TQ than you will ever be making with your car.
My car has been rolling around southern California since late Febuary with this trans, the 3.0L blower and a fully built motor (pistons, rods, etc.) making even more HP and TQ than Earls was. Now that the entire package has been proven on my car the engine internals are being installed in Earls cars. Mike and Steve at Weistec are methodical and if I do say a bit **** about everything they do, trust me when I say this system has been thoroughly tested or you would not be reading about it or seeing it for sale on their web site.

Can't wait to see what your car does at the track!
