My name's Josh and I'm addicted to modifying my car.
Maybe tomorrow.

And maybe, just maybe, I know how to cut the line...
>cough< I'm getting the transmission upgrade before you >cough<

The Best of Mercedes & AMG

And I live on Montana, so yeah. Thanks!
Also, more parts that AREN'T going back on the car:
Fog lights and headlight washers...

Old busted plastic...

And, what's that... A fuel rail??

Hmmm... The plot thickens.

Yah, I'm going twin turbo. That's a faceful.

Maybe pictures of the final setup tonight. Maybe tomorrow...

So. Some people get blue *****. I got blue heads instead (Testa Azurro?). Painted by Steve @ evosport to match my calipers (that he also did earlier in the year):

And while they were off, I went from this (remember kids, 65k miles):

To this:

with the help of a little ATF, some patience, and a stainless wire cup brush on my Snap-On die grinder.
Oh, and the reason they were off in the first place is because I went all batty and did this:

Yep. Weistec ported heads. I should have taken before pictures. They were a proper mess. Steve said they even had to straighten some of the valves. The finish work on them is a thing of beauty. They looked factory new when I picked them up.
Oh, and the best is yet to come. But it's not coming tonight...

But I was actually referring to this:

Yeah, I'm making centerlock upgrade spindles for the C63. It's a direct replacement for the factory spindle and SOOOO BADASS, if I do say so myself. I patterned it after the Porsche 996/7 spindle upgrade, but beefed it up for the Benzo, and designed it to be compatible with all the factory hardware. Except the wheels, duh. So, yeah... I've got 4 epic slugs of cro-moly, most of the programming done, and I'm having them broached locally (27 spline) but I'm still looking for a place to have them heat treated and ground.
That happened.

Also, I just picked up jsc1234's Dads63 hood because I did, in fact, put a full Weistec kit on the car(!) and I want to keep the underhood temps down (also why I coated the headers).
I know some of you had figured it out already, but yeah, it happened, and I'm soooo stoked on it! First time I drove it, it broke my 315s loose on the 2-3 shift. Not chirped them, BROKE THEM LOOSE! This thing is retarded fast. And that's being quite complimentary to retards... Special people. Differently abled. Whatever. No harm intended, so don't freak. Anyway, the transmission was acting a little funky on launch with all that power so I decided to leave it with them for the tranny upgrades and WOW. It's face melting.
So, I'm going to do some v-box runs tomorrow morning and I'll post the results in the afternoon. A big thanks again to the Weistec guys, and pictures to follow.
Taking a step back, though, I've got a couple more renderings of the centerlock setup for your viewing enjoyment:
The exploded assembly...

...And the wheels photoshopped onto the Dragon (getting the rendering perspective right was a biatch, so back off!):

BTW, I built and rendered the whole wheel assembly in my CAD package. Lighting to match daylight wasn't happening for me...
Ok, it's late. but there's going to be lots of good stuff in store for you kids over the next couple days...
