Not sure how much the dealer charges for OEM pads but online you can get front pads for about 240. Not sure what your other question is asking as "best" means different thing to different people.

I used Carbotech pads on my Corvettes and I'll probably use them on the C63.

Just remember for Canadians, MB will replace your brake components if they wear at no charge for the first 2 years. My service manager even mentioned that to me with a wink when I commented on the price of the brakes if I should wear them our prematurely for some unknown reason .

I'm actually thinking of putting the OEM pads on for the first few track days for this very reason

I haven't looked at them yet, are there 4 pads per caliper up front or two?

I see some of the aftermarket track pads are sold as 4 smaller pads per caliper, so I'm wondering if they are the right fit?

The link is broken, site appears to be down right now, but that site happens to be my MB dealer, Mercedes of Annapolis... even though they are 15 miles from my house.. if I order online... I still have to have them ship it.. otherwise I get to pay dealer markup :/

The 4 pads per caliper are for the 8 piston calipers found on the 55 AMG's... The 6piston 63 AMG pads only require 2 large pads per caliper. Hope this helps.

Yeah, it's just their way of making a buck it two I guess. BTW, have you ever ordered anything from them online before? The reason I ask is because it's been 3 days since I placed an order and I haven't heard a peep from them.

I wouldn't count on that brake scheme; MB Canada just issued new directives to the dealers regarding brake replacement. If there is any hint of abuse (blue marks, etc) the claim is to be denied. I guess MB Canada has the highest warranty costs per capita out of all the regions.

Abuse? What abuse, we just drive the car the way it was meant to be driven

I will most likely get a set of better pads for track day use.

Canadian climate is tough on cars.
