Rage2 and Carac, you guys are well informed, people such as Merc63 are not, sorry Merc63, not hitting you at the knees, but if I listened to any car salesman then I should have gotten the new Camaro LS1 as it is the best car in the world and borderline exotic???
Look, any car is a waste of money, period. Maybe this car might have a chance of not losing a whole lot as this is what the marketplace is showing right now, but getting an exotic(supercar) or a C63 Black Series is a chance to own and drive something that stirs your soul and lets you forget those bad days sometimes. Its a passion, not an investment, but it is an undescribable feeling that these types of cars give you. I for one, dont regret it, especially when I hear these motors that AMG has built us. My 2008 C63 was the best car I had ever owned and it made me feel things inside that no other car did. AMG was able to hook me and I becamed borderline obsessed with their products.

The reason I posted that was because of a conversation I had with my salesman (friend) the other day... The guy is a millionaire from a lottery and continued to sell Mercedes... I asked why he didn't want/get an SLS... And that was sort of his response... That he didn't feel like losing 100k in a few years... I guess he wasn't 100% accurate but you get the gist of it. I guess cars have a different meaning to some guys or perhaps it was a stupid question to begin with.

I have yet to come across a dealer that even knew how to older a BS 63. granted, SLS, lucky SOB lol. Congrats!
And with the residual. You either understand owing a High Performance car is everything to you or its just another car. Id rather spend 200k on an SLS and rent a 90sqft apartment in NYC then have a big house and an accord.

That's one incredible car. I don't think resale value would be at the forefront of my mind if I had the means to consider purchasing one.

I dont know about the rest of you all... but isnt cars usually the worst investment in terms of $$ you will ever make in your life (ex's aside lol). I mean as soon as you drive it from the dealership you lose big money already. so to me, if you are stringent with $$ you would buy a 2nd hand 5-6 year honda civic that will last you another 10 years to get you from point A to B. That extreme case is the 'necessity' part of N.A. living... anything better than that you are really satisfying some sort of 'want' or 'desire.

As most of you know, I ended up cancelling my order for my beloved Black Series due to many delays in the production for my car...my dealer sensing I was bailing on the MB came through for me on a SLS with an offer I could not refuse. I picked it up a few hours ago and finally went out for a tour. Fun, to say the least, anyway I am not going anywhere and will stick around this forum and section as I have developed a lot of friendships here.

Thank you, after owning the car for a couple of weeks, I beleive you are right, the reaction from people who are either car people or not car people, young and old, girls or boys, is the same. I cannot beleive the praise and respect this car gets, its uncomprehendable, the amount of pictures and people video taping me driving is unnerving, I never expected that. This car has been in every comparison with other super cars such as the Ferrari, Lambos, Bentley etc....I am starting to understand why, the best thing about it is you can actually drive this car as a daily driver, I am not and feel really sad when I cant. I cant get enough of this thing!!
