hi guys.. just wanted to ask for advice on what things to look for (service records, history, common issues, etc) for purchasing a pre-owned c63? any things to watch particular to 2008? 2009? say on a 30k-45k miles? thanks in advance.

BRAKES, especially the fronts if they are the two piece from the performance pkg, big $$$. They will be on the outs at around that mileage. If the rotors don't pulse, you can just throw on new pads to save some coin.

Any minor engine problems would have manifested by now I am sure. Purge valve, intake manifold, noisy cam adjusters..

Tires.

Make sure the service history is up to date.

I'd say that about covers it.

Is it a CPO? Does it have extended warranty?

I don't think you can extend warranty through MB on it unless it's CPO.. If that's something you want, might want to look into that if you plan on keeping it.

Make sure to check if the car has previous paintwork on it. Also check both carfax and autocheck.

CPO's at the dealerships here are mostly 2010 and at the higher $50k's - too much for my budget. most of the c63's i'm looking at are from non-MB dealerships.. i'm not sure if they sell extended warranty that MB dealerships will honor (like CPO's)... in my previous car, i had a bad experience dealing with 3rd party sellers of extended warranties so i don't want to go that route again. i'm planning to keep the car for a long time. thanks for all the inputs.

You can purchase extended warranty for the car at the dealer if the car still has its original factory warranty... 09 should have it for 4 years so 2013... At least that is what we get in Canada...

Take the vin to the dealer and see if you can extend it..
