BLIND SPOT INDICATOR

My wife is gung-ho on this option. We ordred it on the 2013 c63amg coupe. Is it as good as they MB claims? 50 years of turning my head, looking for the blind spot? If it is not accurate, opting for it seems like a total waste since if it does not eliminate the head turn. Anyone have the option? Experiences would be most appreciated. thanks in advance

It's a nice feature to have... but my sister 2011 ML sensor just went bad, and it created other problems as the car not starting normally, and draining the battery... til she got the car towed to the dealership. Now waiting for parts, she was told 1-2 weeks before the repair.

I dont have it on my 2010 C63, and kind of glad now.

+1. IMO there is no need for extra junk and added electrics

Yes
I also think its dangerous to have this. Instead of leaning forward or being aware of your surroundings, you learn to rely on a sensor that may be bad or off by a millisecond...and you float right into someone. Encourages bad driving behavior, frankly...I didn't get it and am very glad after having a loaner with the feature (same goes for the stay in lane thing that vibrates your wheel.....so dumb).

I have it and like it. I don't rely on it but use it as a second check. Checking over my shoulder and also checking the mirror warning indicator helps ensure I didn't miss anything. An extra layer of safety is never bad unless you start getting lazy and stop doing shoulder checks.

Blind Spot Indicator

That hits the nail on the head. A head turn is [still] required, so my "head turn choreography" will do the job. I never change lanes without checking the blind spot, and the check is always 100%, unless I'm drunk...lol...BTW, (instead of starting a new thread) is the Harmon Kardon system used in the multimedia package, I opted for. Sound quality?

I test drove one with it and I like it. I wear glasses so even if I look over my shoulder, there's still somewhere that I might miss.

Just as gthal said, I didn't quit following all the safety procedures as always, but it won't hurt at all to have something double-check for you. We're all humans, human beings are bound to having errors.
