There is an Ipod kit or you can use the card slot, you down load your MP3 files to a SD card and plug it into slot on the command but you'll need a PC adaptor card. San Disk sells one for about $25. The O9 command does not show Ipod information on the nav screen or use the command control knob. You have to use the steering wheel buttons which is a PIA. If you use a PC card you can get song title etc on the Nav screen and control it with the command knob. The 10 command does show the ipod on the nav screen but it is no soft/hardware upgrade for the pre 10 cars.

Can you put the MP3-files in katalogs or they have to be in a straight line?

It is based on the folder structure.
The PCMCIA slot is right under the volume knob on the command system. I'm using a PCMCIA to CF adapter. The more mp3's you have stored on it the longer it takes to load after starting the car.
Also you can burn mp3's to DVD-R's and put them into the cd changer. I have 6 dvd's with mp3's and a 16gig memory card in my car.
