For those of you who haven't visited Tokyo or the Kanto region. It seems your lifetime opportunity is over already unless you want some cesium in your system. Soil sample from many Tokyo region have level of contamination that would considered nuclear waste in the US. It's really unfortunate that all that has happened to a country where many people are obsessed with health. The unfortunately thing is, the populace is kept in the dark and all go about as if the worst is over. In fact, Fukushima's condition is as bad as the day when the meltdown occur. It's a ticking time bomb.

I'm not even going to visit Japan in the near future. As you know more and more about the society in depth, you will find everything in Japan is all superficial and all about appearance. It's really not a pleasant place to live. There is a certain kind of stress and control in the air--really hard to explain. Of course, that doesn't apply to everyone there. If you have a close group of people there you can get along with, the best is to just stick with them.

What are you doing here at this time, vdubpower? It's a saturday in SoCal and you are here on the forum. You should be out and about zipping up and down in your biturbo. It's usually quiet here on the weekend and it's mostly only those of us in the middle of nowhere are here now.

I haven't purchased my own car yet. I've been using a friends van. I believe its a Toyota delica. I'm in Okinawa. Mostly farmers around here, so not too many nice cars, unless you're close to Naha. That's where I've seen new Porsches and Benz's. I'm just going to buy a beater to get around for the next two years I have to work here.

Yes, I believe he is the same Hiro.. Nice member here on the forum!

The cost of living in Japan is insanely expensive, that's why last time I went I bought an all inclusive tour.

I pay around $5 for a gallon of milk. It doesn't help the the Japanese Yen is consistently worth more than the US Dollar.

It was actually not that bad until around early 2008 when it gradually dropped from 125 to 79 yen to a dollar. USD has pretty much lost 33% of its former value in Japan. Of course, Japanese Yen is actually tethered on a thread itself.

Anyone going to C&C tomorrow (June 2nd)? I'll be there in my new Quartz Blue C63. Didn't feel like starting another Irvine C&C thread.

Thanks rufferto! Your C63 BS looks absolutely stunning. Too bad you were parked in the side parking lot, but I still managed to find it and take lots of pictures .

I don't remember seeing a steel gray. Maybe you are talking about the magnetite black one parked a couple of rows behind where I was.

I only got a chance to say hi to Point2Point. Maybe we should hav all AMGs gather somewhere near C&C (say the Target parking lot) next time and then head over there together. That way we won't be scattered all over the place.
