CF Mirrors
#26
Thank you BK63amg. Yes I do have the CF lip spoiler. That is the very reason I got the CF covers.
I purchased this combination after Mercedes air freighted a C63 diamond white coupe for the march 2011 car exhibition here in Australia. I went to the exhibition with no intension of even buying a car. When I saw this new coupe model and color combination I just fell in love with the car.
Unfortunately when I purchased my car, I either took what they had or wait another 6 months thinking I could purchased the OEM CF later. At $3000 a piece I gave up on the idea as i feel the was a rip off price even though my wife gave me her blessing to purchase it :-). Now at Aust $450 (including freight from UK) a piece it is a bargain.
I am indeed so very happy with this mod. It seems to almost complete the look of the car.....now Carbon fiber diffuser here I come!! :-)

^^^ I need to know exactly HOW to install because I don't want to go breaking my original mirrors in the process....care to elaborate? Does anything need to be unscrewed? Is it just clips? Is it just pulled off??? Did you watch the tech while he was doing it for crying out loud???

i did it myself on my cls, you have to remove the mirror from the car, just 3 bolts and then the first step is to pull the glass off, takes a fair be of force. then its just a matter of dismantling the complete mirror assembly by removing the screws until the housing is free. i am pretty sure the C63 mirrors are similar.

I am not kidding. Don't forget the cost for the combine option when ordering the car is $6,000. To purchase the combine parts, as spare parts were actually close to Aus$13,000.
Don't forget a new C63 coupe with performance pack cost about $180,000 here in Australia. In the USA it is really really cheap at about $80,000

Now instead of pulling the mirror out like most other guys do, tilt the mirror forward, you may need a little bit of gentle force as it is quite tight. Then with a little flat screw driver push back the plastic clips(the are not really clips) these clips or grips are located at regular intervals around a circular plate. All you need is loosen the top 3 clips and you can now pull the mirror with a little more force and it will come out a lot easier. Once the mirror is out, the rest is the easy bit.
Hope that helps

2012 Diamond White C63 Coupe + PP
Just reviving the CF Mirror thread to show those who are interested in getting the CF mirrors and the LED puddle light.
Thanks to Perry for recommending the CF Mirrors. I do love how it looks with the white LED light compared to the stock yellow/orange color.

There's no need to "program it into the system", you just splice into the courtesy light in the door. AFAIK no model comes with option for puddle lights in the mirror so you can't just enable it via software.

I really want to do this mod and even tried to order them from DCT Motorsport. Unfortunately, DCT MotorSports have stopped communicating with me after I tried to purchase them a week ago.
I might have to try CKS if DCT doesn't get back to me soon.

I noticed you have a SLK55, how does that drive compared to the C63?

So different from the C63.
It was certainly designed to be a gran tourer with pep. I had to get a tune and remove the resonator to truly unleash the AMG feel. Now it feels like a proper AMG I have managed to clock a 4.1 0-60 and take turns the C could never handle. It feels light and nimble compared to my sedan. I do wish it had a little more power, but I always think my cars could use more power I'll probably keep the little car for a couple of years before moving on.

I got my covers from BOCA Australia, great quality and less than a grand, just need the car to be delivered now.
From MB they quoted me $2899 add on to P30 pack (which had the CF spoiler). Internal door and dash insert was RRP $4,999 in August, exact same items from MACarbon $1695 delivered including GST

Just received mine from CKS and man do they look great. CKS was fantastic to deal with BTW, as opposed to DCTmotorsport. Now I have to see if I have the courage to try and install them myself
I'll post pics once their installed.
