I've had 2 Mustangs, 99 GT and 05 GT and loved them both. Very reliable, well built and a lot of fun. Ford is my domestic brand.
Anyways, thinking about getting another one, like a weekend, summer car that I can bring the kids with me. I like the 2013 a lot. However, I have an urge to get an SL too. My cousin came down in a 2003 SL500 and even though it is 9 model years old, it still commands an audience. Hmm...

This might be similar to some of the conversations between Messerschmitt ME-109 pilots after the first sighting of the new supercharged P-51D Mustangs over Europe in 1944.

I actually was looking to buy a Shelby gt500 for 2013 but instead bought a C63 Amg if you build it with all the goodies your talking 68k plus and honestly having drove the 2012 I just felt it wasn't worth it considering the interior and other features. Also what killed me most people (non-car lovers) would look at it as another regular mustang that cost 32k. But from what I am reading the next mustang will be even better 2015 model. It is suppose to be on a world plateform and similiar to the M3. But don't get me wrong it's a bad *** car.

I am literally in the same boat at the moment. After shopping around I am interested in two cars 2012-13 c63 coupe or 2013 gt500. I still can't wrap my head around the numbers the gt500 puts up and was almost sold and ordered one but then I stopped at the Mercedes dealership and they had a beautiful c63 coupe on the floor. Sat in it, drove it, and quickly understood how much quality that car has. About to hunt around for an arctic white coupe but I still can't help to think what it would be like to own a car like the 500. Just two completely different cars and it will be my daily driver. Honestly still extremely tough for me to commit but I have my priority on a c63 at the end of the day. Any thoughts?

Honestly I am very excited to see the next mustang the one in 2015. The reports say its suppose to be everything short of amazing change for ford. They apparently pulled all the stops out since it will be the 50th anniversary.

Sincity I would rather have just a Mercedes then a Ford if people were looking at my cars like that. Also not ever damn redneck drives a Mercedes the same cant be said for a ford mustang. You always find them parked infront of trailers in the country side in Georgia. Listen there is lots of great things about a Shelby but go build one and compare it to a C63. How often are you gonna drag your car or ever hit even top speed. I like the fact that the C63 s a elegant and classy car, but also has a lot of muscle. The shelby is just muscle and really depends on what you plan on doing with the car. For me It was between the Shelby and C63 but it came down I wasn't gonna spend 68k for a car with cheap *** interior and not even power passenger seats. But there is things that the Shelby does that outweigh what the C63. It's all about preference

The GT500 just got blasted by Automobile Magazine in its comparison with the ZL1:
http://www.automobilemag.com/reviews..._shelby_gt500/
They said this about the GT500's handling:
The car wallows like a stuck pig and I desperately attempted to load up the outside wheels on corner entry. Despite my best efforts, I couldn't calm the Shelby to precisely attack a corner. To make matters worse, the understeer in the fast turns was significant, meaning I was unable to carry the speed through the important fast sections of the lap.
