Any good websites quick quotes, without all the phones calls? Last time I did that with my phone number I got probably 45 calls from different shipping brokers...

Google Voice is the key if you don't want to give your cell.

Pilot picked up my 2012 cls thursday shipping enclosed from laguna niguel, ca to saint louis price was 1460. I checked with another closed carrier passport? And they wanted 1780. Pilot was very professional. The driver checked my car for cosmetic damage (he looked very closely every where including skirts. He knew what he was doing driving over 20 years for the company. I place about 60 lbs of luggage including a tool box in the trunk. He did not open the trunk. The only area he did not inspect. Anyways my car is set to deliver tomorrow night and i dont anticipate any problems. Ill post if something goes wrong. Dont go open or with a broker. These are the guys you need to be weary of. Pilot owns and operates there own fleet. They have shipped for Fletcher Jones in Newport and other dealerships. Good luck

Sure, the west coast manager is Paul Solberg and the driver is Tom (sorry dont know his last name, but he lives in Michigan. Hes retired military and a seemingly discilined individual. Call pilot and ask to speak with Paul. Tele 800-252-7733. btw i took some pictures of the rig and loading my car to the top level on a hydraulic lift. It was pretty cool. Ill post pics on this thread tomorrow. Dont know how to post from the Ipad lol.

What is the total mileage? Was that quote from pilot? Door to door OC to STL is 1830 miles. I paid 1460. I guess that about 75 cents a mile.
Ive driven cross country at least 10 times. My last trip was in my 2011 E last November. I did not hit any bad weather, but there are so many variables to consider that argue against driving a nice ride like yours. When i got the E back to OC from Saint Louis i had paint chips on my side mirros and front. I avoided trailing cars but it happened anyways. i did not get any rocks into my windshield but this has happened before.
One other thing I considered besides wear and tear was my inability to keep it at 75mph in the high dessert. Lets just say i made that trip in two 11 hour sessions. The last thing you need is to get popped in a place like Texas or anywhere in the triple digits. Jail and increased insurance premium follow suit. Dont rely on V1 or Escort 9500. I got popped by laser in arkansas and never saw it coming. Dont forget the air patrols and unmarked police vehicles.
Also the E is no AMG, but i had several cars following me too closely trying to keep up or whatever. You do draw attention to your car in rural Areas. You may not want that attention.
Many years back a relative of mine drove a benz left it outside the hotel in a small town and came back to find it heavily keyed.
Anyways if u can control your impulses and are not concerned about paint chips etc, then go for it. Cross country road trips are fun. For the record i never got a ticket going cross country lol.
One final thought why not open container the car then and avoid the potential hassles i mentioned above. If your shipping in the summer the risk of damage to your car is minimal and you save $$$

I know this post is too long

The quotes is for about 3100 miles..I have driven cross country few times already with someone else and I really don't want to do it again by myself.

I have escort 9500 and have already been lasered already..76 in a 60.. At least he didnt get me when I was doin 100+, but I never drive that fast if any cars are around.. I wil be looking for quotes..I am cautious on those cheaper placed that are open container.. Also, I want to bring my 55" tv and some other goodies, but tv is the only thing that is hard
To ship
