C63 Black Series Owners- need input... possibly dump my E63TT wagon for a BS?
I have the opportunity to get a C63BS- its Obisidian Black (was hoping for white or red) with the carbon fiber package and matte black wheels. It has a few other options that brings the sticker to 117k
I would probably get rid of one of my other AMG's (this is my only option if I dump a car) and Im asking if I got rid of my wagon (E63TT) what are your thoughts.
I have a 997.2 TT PDK with a tune and exhaust that rocks. I have the CLS63 TT which I dont want to drop. The IS and GTR are keepers, both for completely different reasons which I dont want to discuss. But the wagon, as good as it is, is expendable. Its slightly modded with an OE tune to 560 whp and 620 rwtq. I have the HRE P45SC's on it and its dropped with the KW kit. It has other minor cosmetic love given to it. The car is fast- probably 125 mph to 126 mph trap speed fast and it rocks from a dig with the rear weight bias. I have no doubt it would faster in a straight vs the BS. And of course would get its a$$ handed to it via the twisties.
But for you owners (others can chime in too) I think the BS is THE car to get right now in this price range. So I once again come here to ask you the C63 leaders your thoughts. I really wanted a white or red one but can not source one at all or get the deal (I think its a good one) like what Im working on with this car.

It depends on what your needs are. It all depends if you need the practicality of the wagon. The E63 is more practical and is a wicked sleeper, but the CLS63 is better looking and is more fun to drive.
If you need wagon practicality, dump the CLS63. If you never need to fit more than 4 people, dump the E63.
If I was in your shoes, I'd replace coupe for coupe and dump the CLS63. The E and CLS drives similar enough anyways, and you'd have more options when you need to fit 5 ppl and luggage on a roadtrip.

Thanks for all the posts guys... I actually have no need functionally for the wagon. I just wanted a stupid fast car that doubled as a "minor" sleeper. But the BS is just so tempting even in stock format. I dont think I need to even swap the wheels.

my wife bananas! :D
Do it, the C63 BS is the ultimate sleeper right now. Nothing until the RS4 comes out again will come close.
Plus, it's exclusivity will mean resale values will be decent.
Tough choice tho, I really dig your E63

I think the E63 Wagon is "cooler" than the C BS. So I would keep the E63. nothing is better than a badass wagon! (unless you want a track car then get the BS)

You are one lucky son of a gun. Most people don't have the extremely painful choices you have. I would only offer one observation. Don't expect the BS to be, even remotely, a sleeper. Even those non-gear heads notice that this car is unlike anything currently on the road (especially if you manage to secure a diamond white or mars red car). The attention and questions I get (something I was totally not expecting) has actually become quite distracting when I drive.

What a wonderful problem to have Vic! I'm sure you'll be happy with either car

My CLK BS was a sleeper. Nobody knew what it was.
The C BS is annoying. People taking pics of it while driving, parked, pretty much everywhere I go. I have hopped up STI's and EVOs and 335's picking me to race all the time. No aero package on my car, far from a sleeper.

I got my GTR in 2009 and that car sure did get a ton of looks- probably too much... I think it still would garner more than a black C63 BS. But I understand the attention that comes with such a car.

Remember what I said just a day or two ago: Vic, no one changes car more than you do.
It's for sure that, amongst your collection, nothing gets more attention than the GTR. Other cars can hide under the radar due to the obvious reason of having a docile counterpart. Not the GTR.
Obviously, the E wagon is more practical, but the CLS's design is unbeatable. I'm not sure about the handling between the two, but I thought I have read many times that E63 handles better than CLS63; although both are GT so neither outhandles the C63, esp the BS. If I have to pick, I would keep the wagon and lose the CLS.
