Hi i am new to your forum and Mercedes in general. I have owned BMW and Audi now i want my first Merc. I Searched for a couple answers but there is alot of material to cover and i havent found the answers yet.

1) I looked through the first 5 or so pages and havnt seen many cars with any issues. What should i look for when going to purchase? What are some common issues?

2) I am going to get a tune and i read that OE tuning looks to be a well recommended company from other threads. Am i missing a Company? And what makes these tunes more popular than renntech and kleeman? Also which one is the faster tune if anyone knows that answer?

3) Also going to do headers. To install does the engine need to be dropped? On my Audi S5 it does. Im hoping this is not the case.

4) Looking at CPO, how is Mercedes with modded cars. Audi is now scanning all cars that come in for service and flagging cars with tunes, and then denying powertrain warranties. Pretty ****ed up and this is why im looking at different brand cars. Audi used to be really mod friendly now they are being gay just after i purchased my car 7 months ago.

5) I read about tire wear issues. How many miles on average 10k? I just saw a carfax and about every 5k miles they had 4 new tires mounted and balanced all the way up to 40k miles lol

I guess those 5 things cover what i need to know. Number 4 is a big one for me.

Ref, your no 4, MB warrant the car as was built ex factory, NOT someone else s work, sounds ok to me.
