I'll get right to it. The car is an 08 with 13,400 miles last serviced at 10,000 miles. However, today on the way to work I noticed the message state B5 Service Due. Just last week when I last drove it, it said B3 Service Due? Is this a glitch or normal if you don't service the car within the week?

Also correct me if I'm wrong these are the following items checked for B service not sure if any different for B3 or B5:

Inspect wiper inserts and service washer system (Wipers Recently Replaced)
Inspect and rotate tires (Not Needed)
Lube, Oil and Filter service (Performed at 10,000)
Lube service (Not sure)
Cooling system inspection (It cools fine)
Brake inspection (Performed at 10,000)
Replace dust filter (Replaced at 10,000)
Function check
Inspect and lubricate throttle linkage
Check and clean air filter (Performed a year ago)
Inspect axle ball joints; check power steering and rear differentials
Inspect starting and charging system and service battery (New Battery)
Inspect climate control refrigerant
Reset service system counter

As you can see most of this stuff has been checked or replaced recently so not sure weather the car even needs service assuming the above items are all they check for during service? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you!

If u did most of the fluid changes, I wouldn't worry too much about the rest.. Espescially ur car has low mileage.

Just change ur oil if it's been 365 days since ur last oil change. And reset ur service light & call it a day.

IMO, most of the service requirements are a way for the dealer to make money & useless.. Just labour consuming.. But I know some members here will say to do everything that is recommended.

Yeah I agree hence why I was asking how it went from B3 to B5 in a matter of a week? Does B5 mean Service B plus 5 other things that need to be looked at in the car or does it mean something else?

the service dept probably incremented your service meter incorrectly. same thing happened to me. I just had my A1 and now it says I'm due for A again when I flip to the service menu. I'll just follow the manuals recommendation (10k miles/1 year) and ask them to fix it next time around
