drag racing tips

Hi Guys
I need some tips on drag racing my c63 amg , dyno gives me 315kw on rear wheels and 410kw on flywheel . The guys say i can achieve some good time on the strip however seem to have too much torque since first 2 seconds i am spinning before take off.

Any tips on tyres and technique from the professionals
thanks

ESP off. Manual shifting. Do your burnout. Put it in 1st in M. Bring the RPM up to about 1400 while holding the break. Inch up and light the second stage light. Let it rip. Paddle shift, dont use the console shifter. Start your shift at about 6K RPM or you will hit the rev limiter.

drag racing tips

Went to the strip for the first time , was struggling with take off and traction since i was spinning most of the time . i tried traction onn and did a bit better by getting off the line but et were bad since engine was cutting power off . i used my normal street tyres michelin cups but still spun . best time i got on 1/4 mile was 13.2 running 19 inch rims and tyres .

Any advice on traction take off and tyres . i heard that if i should put on lightweight 17 inch rims with drag radials . any advice on the spec of the 17 inch rims ie pdc ,offset etc and the size of the drag radials .

well i am in south africa and what light weight rim would be best . i hear oz wheels have some light weight rims , any idea which one of their range i can use .

i want to try again in 2 weeks since it was a good experience but know the car can do so much better if it can get off the line faster.

some advice please .
thanks

Contact Petro63 he has the same rear setup I use for sale. No problems with traction on the Hoosier DOT drags.
