Cts-v is a beast. The stock blower can be pushed very far.

http://youtu.be/TPQqdxhcoBY?hd=1 The sound of the LS engine is amazing.

I am stuck between a P31 C63 Sedan vs a CTS-V Sedan.

I am test driving a CTS-V 2 hours from now. But I really really like the exhaust note onthe C63. Any comments as regards the exhaust note from inside the CTS-V as compared to the C63?

I found the CTS-V louder at start up... the remote start was very cool! From driving in both the feel of the 2011 CTS-V coupe vs. 2012 P31 C63 Sedan was tough to pin. The C63 felt more agressive and more stable. The CTS-V was fast but not noticibly faster. It also doesnt go around corners as composed . The CTS-V looks more menacing and you will get more looks in a coupe forsure... no comment on the sedan. The interior is not as nice as the 2012s IMO, however much more plush.

I would have a very very tough choice picking between the two again! I went with the C63 however I could have easily went the other way.

Yes, internet shopping saves money. Once they know you're using the internet to negotiate with dealers the savings soon follow. I still have dealers calling and emailing me. lol

I bought it at Cadillac of Mahwah

I prefer the exhaust tone on the V. I really like the deep rumble on start-up. It has a I'm a luxury vehicle but don't mess with me sound.

Congrats on the new ride! I would be interested to hear how the build quality proves to be after the first few hundred miles. Either way, enjoy it!

Feels and shifts okay, so far. I plan on a ECU/TCU tune in the future.

Car feels solid, so far. Hopefully that doesn't change.

Mike - congrats on the new ride! I've actually been looking at the CTS-V A LOT recently! Specifically, the coupe and WAGON! Both are really striking vehicles and the cost of modification makes them very attractive....I'm particularly interested in the +100HP for $1,500!

The one point of contention for me is the transmission - I've heard mixed reviews on the AT. Looking forward to further driving/ownership impressions from you.

Thanks Jason.

A 2.55" pulley, ecu/tcu tune and cold air intake for $1500 is usually the first round of mods everyone does which nets you about 550RWHP with an AT car, 570+ on the manuals.

Even if I wanted to go the bigger blower route someday, for 4 or 5 thousand + install your way over 600HP at the wheels. Definitely not 15K.

I've heard mixed reviews regarding the transmission too. Supposedly GM enhanced the shifting on the newer models via software. Regardless, tcu tunes are available and relatively inexpensive for these cars.

My pleasure. I've made many friends on here so I felt I should share the news with them.

I went the same route and love my V soo much. The airaid intake and corsa exhaust alone wake up the car and gives you a nice balance of supercharger whine and rumble from the LSA engine.

Here's a little sound clip of the corsa axle back.

Congrats Mike! A great purchase and a beast of a car. I think I will be getting one soon as well.

Hopefully you keep the friends you have made on here and stick around and still come to rentals. I would love to see that car in action.

If your looking for a forum for that car this one seems to be the best.

You can find me on there as well under the same user name.

I know you wanted 10's and you will find them easily with your new purchase. What year is it?

Nice!

That Corsa exhaust sounds real good. This is just a catback? No headers or X-pipe?

So, the Airaid is the way to go? I'm hearing a few other intakes need a tune to work properly but the Airaid doesn't?

Track rentals are in my future for sure. The V is a 2012.

Just received some more good news today. My updated insurance policy came in the mail and I received a credit of $236.00 for the year.

I joined that Cadillac forum on Thursday. Username is PetroCTS-V.

I'm sure our paths will cross there too.

Congrats. Honestly, the headbolt issue on the M156 did make me consider a possible trade. The cost of upgrades is very attractive. Did you ever consider the additional expense of trading and buying a new CTS-V vs. adding a blower? Or did you just want to get a new car altogether?

Congrats Petro! Great ride! I noticed the V has a lot more standard equipment (LSD, 19" 285s, etc.) than our C63s for a lower MSRP.

How much are the 2012 Vs going for, if you don't mind me asking? You can PM me if you'd like. I don't plan on getting one anytime soon since I just picked up my second C63, but it is good to know what a "great deal" is in the CTS-V land. Does Caddy also have trunk money or other incentives like MB?
