Hit again...
I have had my car since November. @ 1200 miles ish I was stopped at a red light and got rear ended by and old guy not paying attention... Damage was light only a broken bumper. Cost to repair was $1200 and 3 weeks.
@9000 miles my car was parked outside a buddies house on a large wide residential street that was empty. Keep in mind I was illuminated by a street light. Police estimate the driver was going 35mph+(Given a reckless driving and failure to control vehicle ticket), he hit the side of my car closest to the curb not the street and ended up in my buddies front yard. We all heard it and ran out, his pickup truck was messed up and had to have the bumper taken off to drive home. My car is messed up... I can only hope the frame is bent so it totaled, the wheel wells were pushed in so I didn't risk driving it.
Sucks having a rental car and I can only assume it will take over a month to fix this since actual metal was crushed in from the back, not just a simple scraped/cracked bumper.
Long story short my car is cursed... And the second idiot wasn't even drunk.

WTF?!?!
Man, I am so sorry to hear about that. I can't even wrap my head around the physics of how he hit your car let alone the fact that he was sober![crazy](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/crazy.gif)
Where the hell do you live and what kind of neighborhood is that? I wish you the best and hope your insurance sorts it out quickly so that you can get back to driving your beast. Keep us updated

I live in North Scottsdale. I was visiting someone in south Scottsdale it was a quiet area low traffic street, maybe 1 car every half an hour. We are all still puzzled. I'll post pictures after I get the all clear from my agent tomorrow. The last accident nearly went to court so I don't want to post pictures just yet.

my wife bananas! :D
wow man... I feel for you. I just got my C63 back from the shop for repairs so I know what you are going through. It took them 22 days to fix my car and it sounds like yours is worse than mine.
@35mph, from your description of damage and since your car is new... there is a good chance they wont total it.
either way, I'm glad that you were not in the car when it happened.
take care

I used to have a VW Jetta, was parked at my friends house for a fitting (friends were getting married and I was in the wedding).. we hear a smash, the neighbour comes by and says my car was hit and the guy tried to drive off but did not get far.
Look at my car.. the right and left rear corners were smashed, the middle was untouched... the dude also left 10 feet of tire marks in the grass which is my friends yard up a curb... Dude tried to drive off.. managed to get 20 feet away.. then somehow locked himself out of his car when he went to check something while his engine was running (he tried the back door, was locked, not his front door..
Stone, 15 year old, not the owner of the vehicle, did not have a drivers license, the owner of the vehicle had suspended drivers license and his insurance had lapsed.....)
Talk about messed up.

I usually lease them for 36 months (usually the best deal) and use a pull ahead program in the case of this new car they had an 8 month pull ahead. But with a car with this much damage and 2 accidents in less than a year my dealer wont touch it now. The old one they bought it out and sold it for profit while giving me a newer car for a slightly cheaper payment.
The only reason I lease is for tax business write off... I guess at the end of the day when I turn it in I feel bad for mercedes, but at the same time I now have to keep this car for the full term and have insurance pay for the diminished value at the end of lease.

Either way the car wont be the same, its defiantly lost integrity especially after this last one being a GMC pickup truck. (It moved my car about 3-4 inches over)
Obviously in addition to damage I want all engine mounts and transmission mounts replaced and new tires since the wheel well was pushed into one of the tires fairly bad.
At the end of the day it sucks I will lose enjoyment of my car along with having the safety as I drive around in a crap rental car made of plastic. (swapping it out for a tahoe hopefully in the next few days when they get me one.)

If it's THAT damaged, then you should really push to have the car totaled. You need to convince them that the car will be significantly different even if it's repaired. And you don't want to drive something like that. You won't enjoy it.

Sry to hear about ur misfortune. In Chinese culture, when such bad luck happened to the car & feel like it's cursed.. Sometimes changing license plate numbers could help. U might have a bad number.. Who knows? Lol Good luck on the repair!

Ironically with the new car I changed my plate to a custom one that is simply our model number....

You can sue for diminished value, but it is an uphill battle on that. They will only total it if the cost of repair exceeds a certain threshold.. That threshold will vary based on company and state.
