I'm sure I'll end up with another turbo car in the future, but if your not picky, the new turbo motors give you better everything other than the sound I love out of that C63 coupe I just picked up.
But I plan on keeping this one for a decade or however long the interior/body lasts and
I feel much more comfortable with an aging NA powerhouse than a TT or SC powerhouse.
For the average user who keeps the car for a few years or 100k miles I think the new tt motors in the AMG cars is definately better, other than the sound as previously stated.

2009 C63 AMG
It seems there's a trend to go for turbos due to stricter emission standards. This might be an ignorant question, but I remember hearing that turbos are usually the first things to break on a car. Does that mean an NA engine would be more reliable than the TT? If so, at what cost?

Not sure about the cost. But if you're out of warranty when the turbo motor goes dead, you better have plenty of bucks stowed away esp with AMG and M engines. Obviously N/A engine will have little to break. However, I do worry about the headbolts issue on the 6.2. I really wish MB will just issue a recall and have the headbolts replaced. Or at least offer some kind of heavy discount to have that fixed. If not, I might contemplate trade in to the same car with a 6.2 with the newer headbolts.

Get'em while theyre hot. 2012/2013 is your last shot at getting this motor with most of the bugs worked out!
