09 C63 Wheels
I just picked up this car, it's a lot of fun.....
I'd like to mount a square set up, like 18x10 or the like.
my question is, what is the widest wheel I can fit under the front and back? can a 10 with a 285 fit front and back? it's ok it the offsets are different, I don't care about rotation. just want them all the same. only criteria is they don't stick out or rub at any height.
thanks!

First off, why? Are you trying to dial in or reduce the under steer? If so, you are much better off trying to achieve this with a set of coilovers.
In the front you could go with a 9" set up, but you would most likely have to stretch a 245. You might get away with a 255, but I think you will rub.
In the rear your could go as wide a 10.5", but you will need to stretch a 275 or 265 to avoid rubbing. I currently run a 19"x9.5" ET50 with a 275 and have no rubbing issues.
All things considered, what you are asking for sounds like a really bad idea. If you want to go with wider tires, go with a staggered setup and do a lot of research of what sizes and offest will be ideal for you.
Good luck.

Ah. Two threads. Same question. Check my answer in the other thread. As for fantastic results on other cars, I think you will find that if those cars with a square setup are performance oriented they are AWD, or at the very very least, engineered for it. Switching to a square set up when that's not the stock way would not be a positive move.
