As far as I'd heard the Euro and canadian 2012s are fine, it's the second model year 2013s that have this fuel pump issue. It sounds like it should be straightforward fix, but the problem is the replacement availability and the competence of repairing dealers. Highly annoying to owners as you say. I've never had any issue with 1st model year cars and will continue to buy them, but that perhaps because often most of the hardware has had testing in other platforms.
