I found a flip up bracket. I have it on two cars. The AMG is lower than the other car. Another AMG had the same one but lives in NY and the potholes there at it.

In NYC, no front plate tickets aren't fix it tickets. They are $130 tickets + 20 surcharge for every instance they pull you over.

But the ticket is still on record, no? If a cop pull you over for not having a front license plate and see that you have been cited multiple times in the past, they can tow your car or so I've been told.

I am not actually sure if thats the case since I have never been in that situation. Only had one license plate ticket in 8 years so I dont really know the law.

I seriously doubt it. Unpaid parking tickets, sure. No plate is a fix-it ticket. You get a cop or DMV employee to sign off and it's a $25 processing fee instead of the full fine. They should just be happy with the repeat revenue and not tow.

3 glasses of wine in 2 hours does not need sobering. 3 glasses of wine however will get you a DWI or a DUI if you get pulled over for being a tool and not putting on a front plate.

Yup, I got one in my Z06. I couldnt believe the price.

Never mind getting pulled over, I was getting one from a brownie every time when I took it out in a municipal lot. Lucky for me he will run out of ink before I run out of favors.
I have since got a top flight no drilled plate mount.

If front plates were so necessary, every car delivered to the US would have them and all states would require them. AZ didn't and I'm not changing it.

How do 3 glasses of wine not need sobering up but you can still get a DWI? Obviously you're not truly sober.

as promised guys. I think it looks pretty cool haha. Got pulled over for tints a couple times and the pigs always give me a ticket for my tail lights and no front plate also. I've seen people with darker tints not get pulled over, guess being an 18 year old in a c63 gets some unwanted attention eh?

i've had got a ticket 4x when i was driving an orange 350z (lemans sunset) back in 2006-07. i would take a picture, go to the court house and settle it (pay the fee). haven't got any since (well, i wrecked the car, got black cars since).

if I have a choice (and some funds) I would not place the front plates.. but going cheapo route here so option is to put back the plate holder. challenge as well as to what frame to use (and bend too?) so atleast the front plates looks flush with the curve.

thanks for all your comments and suggestions.

Cool

I am snowbird, live in S.Fla. but summer in Ohio. I took my C63 from. Fla to OH. permenatly.
Insurance in OH is half the cost of S. Fl. , but I kept registration in Fla. because I can not bear to put a front license plate on the car.
Am I stupid or just crazy?

Just got a few tickets last night actually one of them being the no front plate. I really don't mind the front plate at all but the reason its not on is bc the previous owner never installed one and i never got around to drilling holes in my bumper. I was at a meet last weekend when i saw something pretty unique. This s4 has a European style NY plate and the owner told me he hasn't had any problems with it. So today i ordered my new license plate from http://europeanplates.com/ .... i Will post pics soon as it arrives

When I got the car (used) at the dealer, somebody had already installed a bracket for front plates. However, the bracket was euro sized. For a while I screwed on the US size front plates on the euro brackets. Let me tell you, it looked stupid. I finally just ordered a 'AMG' plate and stuck it on. I'm sure I'll get pulled over at some point in my life.

I would love to take off the bracket and fasten US size plates up front somewhere on the mesh grill or using Rhoplates, but I can't figure out how to fix the holes (8 of em!) on the front bumper. If anyone knows how to fill holes, please share. I don't want to increase my already high chance of getting a ticket by not having plates up front.

Sober to drive. Enough to blow possibly over the legal limit.

Its up to the owner but I would rather just blend in and have a front plate rather than try to look cool and get messed with every time I go out. Cops in NYC hate people who dont run front plates. Why give them an excuse?

If German cars are forced to run a frt plate, how do they mount them on the C63? Screw into the plastic ?

I took European delivery, I still have the euro plate and bracket. The installer of my 9500CI, has cap plugs for the screw holes in the bumper painted the color of the car.

Personally, because there's ALMOST no good reason you need a front plate.

Last time I was in NYC, a patrol car noticed me in their rear mirror with no front plate, so the guy literally stopped, let me passed him and then started tailgating me... and finally went away when he saw that I have a FL plate.

Same here in FL, I don't understand people who put illegal tints, it's like they're giving cops an excuse to pull them over.

I'm sure being middle eastern looking doesn't help. Cops around here are racist bunch; last time I was at Fairfax country court, almost everyone were minorities.

BTW that front lip is looking good.

I did the exact same thing with my tinted windows: I get a fix it ticket, goto a friends shop for them to write up a removal receipt and presented it in court. Worked the couple of times, until one judge saw all the dismissed cases I had and slapped me with a $300 fine. He didn't even care that the previous tickets were cited to a completely different car. Also told me the next time a cop caught me with illegal tint, they would impound my car. Gotta love nova.

To you guys that mounted the plate on the grill: did you notice any affect on oil and water temperatures?

I was going to mount my plate like that, even bought a special bracket, but was worried about blocking too much airflow to the radiators behind it. I mounted it off to the side.

On the other hand, the plate would give a little protection to the radiators from rocks and bugs.

If you're worried about blocking the radiator you can always get rhoplate which mount to the towing hook.
