Came out of a birthday party today at my sisters house to find some utter gutmagot had keyed every panel of my c63 down BOTH sides
What psychotic ****tard would do that to a random stranger. The grooves are down into the metal, how the fark is tht goung to get fixed.
I could kill this *****!

so sorry to hear that, I go ballistic when I see a new paint chip on my car. This would've pushed me over the edge lol... On the bright side, if you were thinking of another colour for the car, this could be your chance

I've had this done to me on another car. I just don't understand why some people would be so petty and jealous to do something so hurtful to someone they don't know, simply because they feel inadequate.

Got quotes today and the metal has been damaged and requires complete car respray $20,000 job

Makes my stomach drop while i read this. My car was keyed sunday night i had to claim the whole incident through insurance they vandalized almost every panel

Maverick, Good Luck with the repair. Are the panel dented in where keyed? That would help explain why its so much.

The cost of the repair is so high because the car has to be basically stripped and sanded back as the damage is down into the metal of the panels themselves..also lots of carbon fibre goodies need to be taken off and reinstalled...

20k! jesus lol. I think when it was all said and done my body shop wrote the damage up to 7k. The adjuster is coming tomorrow to inspect and give the ok to start work.

Car resprays are fairly expensive here. I have a few scratches here and there and was told ~14k for one side of the car. A friend of mine had to have his 135i side resprayed at a cost of ~17k IIRC. Both of these prices are from the 'preferred' bodyshops of course.

I'm gonna say this was not a random act. It's probably somebody who knows you, who was at the party, and who is jealous of your rides or is just a ***** in general. A random act of vandalism is quite rare. Just my $0.02.

A random act of vandalism happened not that long ago to my bodyshop guy. He drives a Solara so nothing to hate for pollution and nothing to be super envious of, but in Berkeley someone keyed his car and several others outside of this restaurant to "protest" eating meat there.

I hate everytime I see this happen to a nice car. My friends thought I shouldn't be mad when someone put some scatches on my passenger door. Luckily I think I can sand/buff the scratches out.
If you want the car to look like how it did before than 20k isnt a bad deal. If you decided to change the color than you have to decide if you want to do door jams, trunk, engine bay. That all adds up. There are 75k plus paint jobs. In my honest opinion on a car that nice and new I would have it repaired and re sprayed oem color to match everything.
