Potential Purchase
Hey guys, I'm new here. Been trolling the forums for about a year and I finally think I'm ready to purchase a C63. I am thinking I will purchase a gently used 2012 or 2013 to avoid the hit off MSRP. So yesterday I took a look at a car here in Plano, TX, and I can't get a good feel on whether its a good deal..Here's the deets...
2012 C63 AMG Coupe
1 owner clear carfax
Original MSRP 67k
13k miles
Here's the problem...it's not at a Benz dealer, it's at a Infiniti dealer...so it's not CPO'd...
They are asking 62k and some change...I talked them down to 60.5...
I think that's still too high right? For a year old car with more than an quarter of its original warranty used...only 7k off MSRP with 13k miles? I've seen people on here getting that off brand new. My assumption is it was a trade..and they paid too much for it...? Or am I wrong. I told the guy 56k. But truthfully I wouldn't mind going 58. Am I off base on the value of the car? My thinking....
A lease on the car would be 1k a month brand new after 6k in fees...so the car should have at least depreciated 12k in the past year right? Plus 13k miles. What do y'all think?

I think the mileage is a bit high and the no warranty is a BIG no no.
Also, the fact that youre getting about 7K off isnt that great. I got 5K off a brand new one with 3 years of service thrown in (factor that in at about an extra 2k).
The biggest thing is that it is an OK deal but the no warranty and the mileage is big hits against it being a good deal.

Well it still has the manufacturer warranty up to 40k. And I was planning on purchasing a warranty. I just find it hard to believe it has only depreciated 7k in a year. With 13k miles

Does the 2nd owner get the warranty also though?
Does it transfer is what I'm trying to say. I know sometimes it transfers but the mileage and years that it is covered for get reduced

Yes it does transfer the dealer says. And I will probably only keep it 3-4 years. 10-12k per year max. It won't be my daily driver. But is the dealer on point with the price?

I'd try to get another couple grand off or move on to another. They probably just got it and are trying to get top dollar still. Once it sits for a month the price will come tumbling down. When I was looking I'd pretty much check cars.com daily. I saw a 2012 Edition One sedan that was first listed at 68k and a month and a half later it was down to 59k. Be patient you'll find the right deal!

Agree with the two above posts, let them know you're interested but the price is too high. They'll either bring the price down or call you back when they're ready haha

Yes! That edition 1 I looked at and a guy beat me to it. And they've only had the car 3 days. So I know they aren't backin of yet. I'll pay 58k. But not a penny more. I'll keep looking and wait for a callback. Anyone know how much an extended warrant would cost? And how many miles I can get on it?

Anyway, I would wait a bit and see if they lower the price. I do not think that car will sell at that price so you don't have anything to worry about.
