Yes, happy with the tune, Jeremy and Josh have been great to deal with. Most noticeable change is in 'S' mode at 5,000 rpm where it pulls much harder all the way to redline. You can notice the changes all throughout the rev range but above 5,000 it's 'Giddy Up' time!! I didn't do a before and after dyno unfortunately, my car is stock other than the tune at the moment but I will probably get my engine builder to put a set of headers on soon.

For those that have done the tune, is fuel consumption affected at all? I know that we drive a 6.2L and who really cares about fuel consumption when you you are enjoying the rumble but if it does reduce consumption (when driving normally), it might be an incentive to bring the tune forward.

Prior cars i have owned have run very rich and a bit of tuning to lean out the mixtures has improved performance and fuel economy.

This is a great board and I have almost finished my rear camera install (for a total of $30 vs the $1500 MB wanted).

Also, has anyone found a dead pedal locally (as in Oz)? It is really annoying not having one!

Mike

Thanks Brad, maybe I can get the air box with the saving. As you all know, no traction at the moment so seriously considering the LSD option as well, but at 5k thru evolve I'll have to wait till after Fiji ( the ***** )
Anyone recommend LSD via another reputable shop or is 5k 'reasonable'
Will keep u posted re tune

I'm going to upgrade to a Drexler LSD...

http://www.drexler-motorsport.com.au/

Brabus in South Melbourne will be doing the work. $3,200 for LSD plus install costs.

Has anyone else done this upgrade?

Go to Drexler direct in sydney $66 to ship to melbourne, and get the boys at sharp performance to install it.

following on from your phone call yesterday I have attached
some pictures of the Drexler Motorsport LSD we can offer you
for your AMG C63. The LSD will fit directly into the standard
Mercedes diff housing with no modifications required. The unit
sells for $3255.61 inc GST, shipping to Melbourne will cost $66.

A bit of information on the Drexler Motorsport product for you:
Quality:
- Made in Germany
- Drexler is an ISO 900:2000 quality certified company
- High quality & superior materials are used in housing and internal parts
- Each diff is individually hand assembled to fine tolerances, it is not a mass produced part.
Operation and fitment:
- It is a plate type LSD, Quaife & Wavetrack are not. Plate type LSDs are the only one used in professional level motorsport
- It is a direct fit into the standard diff housing, some brands require modifications to the diff housing
- It has a variable locking rate ranging between 10%-90%.
- Under light throttle loadings the LSD will lock very lightly, under heavy loading it will lock on more aggressively due to the ramp angle configuration.
- The LSD also runs a moderate amount of pre load so the car will not push or understeer on entering corners like highly pre-loaded LSDs do.
- It operates quietly like the stock diff, no noises or tyres chalking on tight turns

Other brands such as Wavetrac & Quaife units are torsen type LSD. This style of LSD is much cheaper to produce then
a plate type one and it has some drawbacks in the way it works. The main issue is when one wheel is unloaded or is on
a slippery surface all the drive will be sent to that wheel which will mean massive wheel spin. Due to this flaw you will not
find a torsen type LSD used in any serious forms of motorsport.

Proven in Motorsport:
- Drexler products are proven in many professional motorsport categories such as GT3, F3, WTCC, Rally, Truck, endurance races at Le Mans & the , Nurburgring. See our Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?s...4320547&type=1

Proven in High End Tuner cars:
- Drexler supply LSDs to German tuners including Alpina, Brabus, Carlson, Hartge, AC Schnitzer, etc
If you require any further information please feel free to contact me.

Friendly regards

Geez they do like to put down the other LSD brands... I wonder how the OEM locking diff does in comparison.

Hi guys. Another Sydneysider here. Put my E55 in on a C63 yesterday so I thought I'd move over from the W211 AMG threads (my usual hang out) and come check out the C63 threads and what do I find... a shed load of Aussies! Great stuff!
