Service B question
I went for the Service B today, guy offered me additional brake fluid change for $99 and Fuel Injection clean for $200.
I accepted the brake fluid clean, but rejected the Fuel Injection clean because the bill was gonna be $1000 for a damn service!
Is Fuel Injection clean important, can I do it outside or myself for cheaper?
EDIT: My Car is 22k KM by the way.. anyone have rejected a fuel injection clean before and had problems later? Thanks

Brake fluid change was probably due - it is every 2 years.
Unless the fuel injection clean involves removing each injector and cleaning separately then $200 is a complete con in my opinion. And in the unlikely event it was an "off car" clean it was probably not necessary, especially if the car is only a few years old.

IMO fuel injection cleaning is a cream puff profit maker without merit if a car is maintained and decent gas is used (major brands have additive paks which keept injectors clean). The fancy machine must be paid for and the rest is profit. It reminds me of an inlaw whose Honda mechanic stated the clutch was 3/4 worn out... I advised the inlaw to get it in writing. No more discussion from the mechanic.
