Hard Core Drag Racing 15" Set up For Sale
I'm selling my 15" hard core set up for drag racing. Going to stick with road racing now so I don't need these sets of wheels and tires. I will tell you there is a lot of R&D in these wheels and there's only one other set out there like them. This is the set I ran the 10.13 with.
I have two sets of custom rear wheels, 15 x 8” and 9” that only weight 30# each. That’s the tire and wheel combo. That almost half what the stock wheels and tires weigh. The wheels are black powder coated with the stainless screw package. This combo makes a huge difference in 60' and 1/4 mile times.
To go with them I have the C300 rear brake calipers and rotors. It fits the same bracket we have so it takes less than 30-45 minutes to change over. The brake pads and all are included.
I have four sets of tires(used) but they have life left in them. Two sets are Hoosier 275-50 15 drag radials, one set of 26” tall Hoosier slicks, and one set of Hoosier 27” tall slicks.
The brake package was $1,000 – sell for $500.
Each wheel was over $500 each(x4=$2,000) – Sell for $1250.
Don’t want to think about the tires.
Thats four wheels(drilled and screwed also), eight tires and the brakes.
I’ll sell it all for $2000.
Let me know if you are interested.

That's okay. I'm running the CLK 16s and stock fronts now and just hit a 1.49 60ft. I think with a wider rear I can go lower, because i can hit a high 1.5 - low 1.6 and still spin slightly or a little wheel hop. PBIR isn't always prepped good.

Trust me, these won't spin.
You can try the 26" tall and 27" tall slicks the same day at the same track.
If you are planning a super charger or other power adders this set up will give you a great advantage that is much needed at the higher power levels.

Just as an advisory.
You can put the C300 brakes on the rear and leave them there. You don't have to change back and forth when you go drag racing. These are the stock C300 rear brakes and work great on our cars unless you are road racing. I put them on at the beginning of the racing season and leave them on unless I am headed to a road race. That way you can use these lightweight 15" wheels and tires anytime you want to hit the 1/4 mile drag strip or just go make some 60-130 runs with friends.

Dads, I had the opportunity to see your car make a few passes @ PBIR, impressive to say the least. GL with the sale, killer deal for a nasty strip setup.

Didn't think I would need to screw them but they were turning on the rims with the nitrous.

do you have to switch out the rear brakes to make these rear slicks/rims work? I have a 2010 AMG C63 and im just looking for a set to run a few passes down at the track this spring. Thanks

Let me clarify that comment. I have had some unexpected challenges with the tranny and Steve and the crew at Weistec have bent over backwards to help me and offered to make it right. However, at this level of the game(power) the car needs to be at Weistec so they can get everything working together properly. I am in Florida so geogrqaphically thats difficult and the time has come to call it a day. I have been trying to run a 9 second pass for two years and it has cost me literally tens of thousands of dollars. I am not proud of that but its the truth. It was a goal and it got out of hand. We all know how hard it is on the drivetrain to run these heavy cars in the 1/4 mile. All that being said Steve and Weistec are a great team and I have nothing but accolades for their success and products. I am going to revert back to all stock drive train parts and go road racing again.
We are going to focus on high speed runs like the mile run and other rolling races.

No comment on the Weistec stuff other than hopefully you have been compensated for the a$$load of money you have spent and the guarantees that came with it.

Sorry to hear this Keith. Andy has been posting in other places that you were about to be in the 9's so I figured it was about to happen at one of these rentals. I would say DA would be all you need but you had the DA in the bottle no matter where you were running. Couldn't have hurt though for one more go in some serious neg DA. Best of luck to ya. I know I will see you on the 1/4 some day in something else! Its in your blood.

Hey Guys,
Anyone interested in this set up?? Make me an offer??
Need to make room for other stuff.
It all fits the standard C63. Can be used with the wide body but I you'll need spacers.
