Stereo Question

Hey guys. Since I'm new to the C63, I'll most likely have a ton of questions.
One in particular is regarding the HK stereo. Mercedes lists that there are lot of speakers in the car. 12 I think?
Anyway, I'm not real happy with the base output. I'd like more.
Is there a subwoofer in this mass of speakers? If so, where is it located?

I had the HK in my GLK and it needed more base. I added an amplified sub and it was a huge improvement.
Thanks in advance.
Bob

Have you adjusted the audio balance in the media settings first? This sub is capable of a good amount of bass.

hey,

I thought the same at first but it turns out it really depends on the source. I'm no expert, but I have some songs where I get plenty of bass and there are some songs where there should be bass and I get nothing. I'd say mess with the settings. If you want more info, the W204 sedan has a good thread on speakers and subwoofers. I'd check it out.

The HK audio is good, and if you add more bass you will mess up the balance.

I agree. The HK system leaves a lot to be desired. If you crank up the volume to a level that is uncomfortable, then the base is acceptable.
Did a search and found the the HK sub is small and also lacks power.
I plan to add another amplified sub as a suplement. Did the same on my GLK and it made a world of improvment.
Specs and speaker location can be found on the HK website.

The speakers are too small. To get big bass you need minimum 10" woofer(s) with a dedicated power amp to drive it (them) You'll have to give up some trunk space for the enclosure, but you can't get the deep base without it.
