Then my 2 points still stand
either his car is sick, or he has no idea how to drive it.
We are talking around 80 whp difference between a tune only C63 and an F10 M5 DCT
that is a huge power advantage my friend... am just talking common sense.
No way its neck and neck with just a tune only C63

Did I miss the part where it was a rolling race?
we are not talking about a tune + LT header + massive weight reduction C63
We are talking about a TUNE only c63 being neck & neck in a rolling race with an F10.... and you refer to weight ?
Again around 80WHP difference
My 2 points still stand
Magical secret hidden point 3 of ''Its a factory freak created by the German faeries in Affalterbach'' is not valid, unless you admit to running the secret sauce

If there is acceleration or deceleration, weight matters. If the race was off the line, traction would be more important. Because it was a rolling start, weight does matter among other things. There are so many factors involved, driver skill, what gear was the M5 in? how many people did he have in his car? Etc....Who knows.
I raced against a stock 6.2L E63 with my Dinan tuned F10 550i. It is no M5 but Dinan claims 560 torque and 500 hp at the crank. We did several runs on track from about 60 to 120-130 mph. E63 would put about a wheel in front of the 550 from the start, after that it was even with no one gaining. I also expected f10 m5 to do better than What i saw in this video, even though it is the heavier car. OE tune must be helping a lot. But there are so any unknown variables here for me to decide which car is truly the faster one.

Good job Jon
M5 is a beast of a car, by brother has one and I had the pleasure of driving it for 2 weeks and the car is a beast.
Couple things to point out to you guys going back and forth.
1 the m5 is more then 42xxlbs more like 44xx plus
2. It has a gas tank that can hold more then 20 gallons (5 gallons are almost 40lbs) if the guy was full and Jon was 1/4 tank that's some good weight rite there.
3. The M5 has 3 mods for shifting and for power.
Efficient . Sport . Super sport
Then for shifting comfort and sport . Super sport.
If he was in comfort and efficient the car won't move the same as it would on super sport.
Here goes some math now.
C63 Jon's in question should weight in at 3900 plus him and a 1/4 tank of gas the most 4050lbs Do that by 450rw most from a tune only comes out to 9lbs per HP.
The m5 with say 3/4 tank of gas should weight in with a driver, if 180lbs at about 4700lbs say by 520rw comes out to 9lbs per HP.
Thats opinion on how this race was even.
Sry if it's hard to understand its Xmas and my Bday today and I'm on my second bottle of wine

Here are the settings:
Shift Speed (3 settings)
Suspension (3 settings)
Steering (3 settings)
Throttle (3 settings)
and there is Normal, M Dynamic, and DSC off modes which allow for the full compliment of tq with no computer nannies to protect bad driving.
I run the most aggressive modes daily and there is no way you can not notice the difference. Run him again and have him change the dynamics.

I Hear you guys but who would show up for a race against a comparable car and leave it in efficient/comfort mode ? From the race you can obviously tell he was in gear and there was no kick down as they both pulled as soon as the 3rd honk went off so he was in manual. Once the car is revving im sure the car is still putting out max power those setting are affecting throttle response, electric steering weight, suspension stiffness, and shift speed. All of which give you the sensation of a faster more precise car but once the pedal is to the floor neither of those things are going to make it faster or put down more power. With the exception of shift speed and even that will not be a huge difference what is it .2 second shift instead of .08? Either way great race hope to see more in the future against these new TT DI beast out

concur here ... I have an M5 and If I forget to hit my M button to change the settings the car runs in efficient mode which is really pathetic IMHO. The differences in these modified performance options for the M5 really are noticeable.
