2x engine controle moudule ecu for a remap on a 2012 c63 amg (non-pp)
Hi,
I currently own a 2012 c63 amg and I’m looking get a remap, but my concern is the warrantee being voided, for obvious reasons.
What I have been told by someone is that i can buy another engine ecu control module, get that remapped, and if a fault occurs swap the original back in.
My questions are if this is possible, and if anybody has done this? Does a remap only change the engine ecu?

An easier option is to get a handheld tuner that will allow you to have a tuned map and your stock map to flash back to when going to the dealer for service. Most tuners like Eurocharged, OE tuning, Velos, etc. have tuning packages that does exactly this. Much simpler than mailing your ecu.

This is exactly what I did when I was under warranty. I did not want to mess with my stock ECU at all.
I have an extra ECU if you want it. Send it with your ECU to get cloned then load the map on it and keep your stocker for service and warranty.
