Steering wheel/column vibrations over bumps?
Hi guys,
I have a 2010 C63 sedan, and I don't know if it is normal or not, but I have a hollow loose feeling in the steering wheel/steering column whenever I drive over bumps (small or big)
I have read on somewhere that some 2010 owners have also had this feeling. But no one has given a definite answer as if it is a serious problem or just a MB flaw from the factory. Can anyone chime in?

Can be from a number of things including but not limited to:
incorrectly balanced wheels
slightly bent wheel
engine/gear mountings need replacing
Is it only over bumps or are you experiencing it at any other times? How many kms have you done? My AMG specialist took my car for a drive and told me I need to replace the engine mountings. I asked if he was sure, he said if it didn't resolve the issue, he would do the work for free. So no loss from my side.

i have the exact same thing going on (33k miles). of course whenever i take it to the dealership, i can never reproduce it (prob due to the smoother roads there). i have the P30, so i was also assuming the stiff suspension just created more steering wheel vibration. interesting about the loose air bag theory, though. i def would like to know what the cause of this is.

Did you ever figure this out? I notice this also but only very slightly. I think it's inherent in the design of the steering column / suspension. I doubt that its something the dealer can rectify - but could be wrong. Again, in my car it's barely noticeable.
