Quote: So I picked up my car on the 30th of August 2012 and while at first, I was in love with everything about it, I later decided to start a modding spree which has recently come to an end.

Today I spent around 3 hours cleaning it, mostly inside, so decided to take it a mile from my house to take some photos of it.

My most recent work is as follows:

Tinted front headlights and rear white tailights 10%.
Fitted Hong Kong ordered 2010+ style lights on it and left them black to go with the theme of the car.
Foiled the tail light surrounds.
Put a foiled roof spoiler on the rear.
Debadged the star logo of the boot and painted the AMG emblem the same color as the callipers I had painted.
Put new 19" SLS style wheels on with 285s on the rear and 245s on the front (almost flush).
Foiled the roof black.
Foiled the grille black.
Painted the mesh on the front bumper.
Did a resonator delete with stainless steel straight pipes and later did a secondary cat delete with X pipes.
Had an OE Tuning tune to run 98 ron fuel and a few other things.

Love everything about this car but I am not quite decided on the chrome star on the grille? Should I black it completely out? What do you think?

If I do decide to do anything else with this, it will be a supercharger but that won't be for a while now.

i would be embarassed to be in that car with that badge there. an AMG impersonating a black series is far worse than a non AMG impersonating an AMG

I thought with carbon fibre taillights you were allowed to badge your car as a Black Series

Quote: Pretty unique color scheme you got there. Not for me, but to be consistent, I recommend you wrap the star in the grill with the same CF vinyl you used to wrap other parts of the car.
Thanks ddcha, yeah, still not decided on the star on the grille. Will see for a few days and then make a decision.

Quote: Very nice!!
Thanks Pelican

Quote: very nice Sam...really love those SLS wheels
Thank you Sir. Hope you love your new ones as much as I love these

Quote: The offset of the rear wheels are et35? What width? When you say fenders, did you mean the rear quarters? Fenders are in the front and quarter panels are in the rear.

Thanks for that. I didn't realise fenders were just the front. Learn something new every day. As for the rear wheels, yes ET35 on the rear with a 9.5" width. The car came with the widened custom arches. I myself didn't notice it much until I put it up against another C63 and noticed. The job was very well done.
Quote: I really like the CF wrap on the rear lights.
Thanks khmergod. Still need to think on this one as well as the star on the grille.

Quote: This is not really my style but i wanted to congratulate you on your modds.
As long as this suits your style, likes and needs.
Good work .
I still think you should have kept your 19" black OEM. A shame you sold yours already as I would have been interested.
Thanks abcut, I sold them to someone in the US and I'm from Dubai so shipping via air was really expensive so we sent via sea. It's going to take approx 21 - 28 days so the buyer has been very patient. If interested, I could possibly find you a set. These are standard options in Dubai. Mainly in silver but black is an optional extra.

Quote: Well damn! I hope you don't get stopped by the police, because that C63 is pure car ****.

Looks great, I may have stopped with the CF rear lights, but awesome upgrades.

Thanks bigben, I've taken permission from the police to foil the roof black. For anything else, they will not do anything so it's all good. I was once stopped by the police and didn't know what the hell I'd done wrong. I asked and he said he just wanted to have a closer look at the car.

Quote: VERY nicely done! I would black out the star but thats a personal preference.
I would also kill the green emblems and make them all black but they do match the calipers so I understand where you are coming from. I just think its a bit much on the car.

Its your car so keep it the way you want. Again, very nicely done!! ENJOY!!!
Thanks Dads. Love your hood but it was a bit too much for my liking in carbon fiber all the way through so I'm glad it was painted to match the color of the car and just kept the vents carbon fibered.

Each to their own but I don't see how a 520 hp car impersonating (well not really) a 510 hp car is worse than a 250 hp car impersonating a 451 hp car is far worse.

That said, I took off the BS and AMG green logos last night and replaced it with a real CF AMG badge so I didn't run too many colors on the body.

Hey LAMB09,

Thanks for the compliment Yes, it's a Boca carbon fiber boot spoiler.

I would have liked to lower it by an 1" but unfortunately the roads are not perfect over here and the front bumper/lip is already only about 10cms off the ground.

I was going to make the same comment about the BS badge. Nice to see you changed it out.

I really like these rims on your car. The car overall looks very mean.

Do you think the exhaust tips stick out a little too much?

I would leave a chrome grill, but everyone has it's taste, and it's good you removed Black Series badge. Car is amazingly done, green calipers are the best part of car IMHO. Enjoy riding it!

Thanks bud!

I didn't even actually notice about the tips until you mentioned it. They definitely do look like that in the pic. Will see in person on the car tomorrow. They are the stock exhausts so will see. The only thing I can think is they perhaps were pushed out during the resonator delete. Will see about the clamp positions tomorrow.

My god. You guys are harsh. The car is over 10 sq meters and you all focus on a 2mm x 6mm badge LOL.

I think you mentioned before that your car was imported from the US. Is that because it's significantly cheaper to buy a car from here and transport it there, rather than buying a used one in Dubai? Do you not get taxed when you import a car over?

Also, did you replace the front bumper, as it doesn't have those idiotic North American corner lights.

Yes Sir, the bumper has been changed. It's somewhat cheaper to import. For example if I import a car it will cost me about $3000 with all fees. So for example, over here, clean imported US spec 09 cars with 30,000-35,000 miles costs $44,000. This takes into consideration shipping etc. If it's a local spec car then you're looking at $53,500 for a clean local spec car.

There's a bit of money to be made in importing however the resale of US spec cars vs GCC spec cars is always lower and US spec cars are always harder to sale. The differences? MPH vs KMH. Farenheit vs Celcius, Navigation, Radio frequency channels etc
