Small Tiny Mod
So I got an extra start button (in case I messed it up I can just pop the old one back in) and I painted it red. This is what came out.

I got the extra button for free
so total cost of the mod was $4.22
my only concern is how well the paint will hold up. with use and in a summer heat. might need to apply a layer of clear coat.
btw, it might make it look better if you take a thin sharpie pen and outline the words again

The guy had an extra push start button for free, so he had nothing to lose... he can always switch back & forth between the red & oem. I think the red gives it a nice sporty look!! Good cheap mod!!

It just looks really cheap.
I agree with Fung63 that filling in the letters with a black will improve it drastically.
Also, Roswell (and Fung) basically voiced exactly what was going through my head when I did this mod. It was going to be VERY cheap, and I can easily grab the original stock button and go back without losing anything.
I'm going to try to get the words out in Black and apply a clear coat. Doing both SHOULD help.
Eventually I am going to get the MACarbon one. It's just that I have a laundry list of mods that I would rather do first than that little button (front lip in carbon, rear diffuser, rear spoiler, get a tune, do some exhaust work, get my chrome outside blacked out...etc etc)
As long as you don't have on your modding list: Red dash & red shifter knob to match my red start button... LOL
Tried filling in the letters with a fine tip black sharpie. From what I can tell if you have the patience AND the skill to do this then it should look good. Unfortunately while I have the patience I lacked the skill and it came out all wobbly on the letters but it still looked good (assuming you can do it right).
That being said, I actually ended up doing two mods that came out much nicer. Let me know what you guys think!

Wrapped it in Carbon Fiber to match my interior.

Had some Carbon Fiber left over and thought why not?
On the red button, try to etch the words with a sharp blade instead of a sharpie to give it more depth, then add a layer of clear coat.
BTW, thanks for trying this out and being receptive to criticisms. I really think you're on to something here.
Criticism is always welcome as long as its done in a nice way. Hating is not welcome.
