Awesome, I've always loved Volvos... one of the most comfortable touring cars I've ever driven. If they can combine that with some serious guts, they might have a winner. Unfortunately for Volvo they've always occupied a space below the German brands, and have had reliability issues that make Audi look like Toyota of old. This is all a scary predicament when you're starting to push the performance of a car like this.
All that being said, choice > no choice. I think all companies should have a halo car like this, it really helps sell the lower models.

firstly, another pretty solid review by chris harris
and is it just me or does the S60 have so many similar styling lines to our C63s?
anyways, looks like i need to stop by my local vovlo dealership

If it were a factory produced car, the price would be much lower.
a loaded S60 is like 55k USD. i question how they can bring that polestar s60 to the 70-80k level to be competitive w the rs6,c63,m3,cts-v et al. who knows though, maybe that is what they had in mind all along.

They just need to undercut their competition by 5-10%. That would be sufficient to attract would be AMG/M buyers, if the performance is as good as Harris says, especially with the manual option.

This is actually the vehicle that is raced in touring car races originally and was done by third party, I believe Polestar is either in partnership, or Volvo now owns it, I forget.
There was one concept sold in the US, and if memory serves me, it sold for more than $500k

It's hard to compare until Volvo actually decides to throw its hat into the ring.
Volvos are awesome. Almost bit on an XC60-R for the wife but the dealer was being ridiculous about pricing. Kudos to them for building this rocket...although as everyone is saying, it's 200k pounds. You think they can take 80% of the price out through manufacturing efficiencies? My guess is no, but I'm not in this industry so can't speak with certainty. Either way, looks awesome!
