I'll have to double-check. But if it's road debris, his premiums shouldn't go up. It's a non-fault incident. Like if his car was parked and someone hit and ran

not that im insinuating on insurance fraud....but it sounded like it wouldve been beneficial if you had told them someone backed up into ur car while it was parked instead of saying something hit you while you were in the car

They spend a LOT of money working very hard to acquire each customer. They are much better off making you happy and getting a few more years of premiums, then pissing you off and losing you.

Something is not adding up.

i was told that i was at fault :-( that it was a collision because i collided with that object..

that since the claim is more than $500.. my rates will take a hit...

that they are sorry that this happened..

full of BS..

.. next time i'll try to understand these technical definitions before signing the dotted line.. but it seems a regular joe like me doesn't go through the fine print and make the hand shake that its a fair business.. they never complained when they take money from my account every month..

You're getting scammed... ask for a supervisor, write a letter, do whatever it takes.

how does this definition help a common customer like me when buying insurance coverage?

Comprehensive and Collision coverages pay to repair or replace your auto if it is stolen or damaged in an accident, regardless of who is at fault. For each coverage, you select a deductible that you pay out of pocket. Your insurance company pays for the remaining damage up to the limits you select.

With Collision coverage, your insurance company pays for damage to your auto when you collide with another vehicle or object. If you hit a car, a pole or another nonliving object, Collision coverage will apply.

With Comprehensive coverage, your insurance company pays for damage to your auto caused by an event other than a collision, such as fire, theft or vandalism. If you hit an animal, or if your auto is flooded or stolen, Comprehensive coverage will apply.

*from progressive website.

i sign up, pay, and done..

then when its time to use them for things like this, they will go through the technicalities of what is included and what is not.. then if you go ahead and claim, do they tell you that your premiums will go up next time around? NOT.. unless you ask for it.

first time accident forgiveness my a$$.. there's a fine print somewhere that limits the damage of your first time accident coverage.. sorry.. i'll shut up now.. its late..

does that mean they would still increase your rates if you do NOT make the claim? or do you mean "screw you" by not allowing it under comprehensive/putting it under collision and raising your rates?
