Yeah, that'd be nice. I know GoPro had a function where you could use your iPhone as a viewfinder. Maybe that would be in the future. I had considered the BlackVue because of its profile, but after reading about the overheating issues and the fact that the FineVu had the Sony CMOS censor, I went with the FineVu.

Well someone hit and run my rear bumper in a parking lot so I went on Amazon to and purchased a camera while angry. I went with the Finevu Pro HD which is a step below the OP's. It looks smaller and blacker but only does 15fps at 1080p and doesn't have the built in battery for portable recording or the built in battery drain protection. My primary concern in monitoring the rear of my car while I'm not there so the 720p 30fps setting should work out. Ill post a review when I get it all set up next week or so.

Damn, did that just happen? I normally back into parking spots anyway because my front lip can't get over those cement things. I have much better clearance if I back in.

If I don't use my car for several days, I can view the motion sensor feed for those days since I have it connected to a 30v fuse.

Yea It happened Monday. Rubbed up a lot of clear coat that I can probably buff out and caused a 1 inch crack across the horizontal contour of the bumper along with a two inch vertical white line where the paint is gone from the bumper bending. Pretty much sealed the camera purchase for me. I'm hoping to mount it in such a way that I can just aim it backwards while parking.

Dang, sorry to hear about that. I'd be pissed. Any luck catching the person? I mean based on the description, they must've known that they hit you.

No luck catching the piece of ***** so far. So what do you guys usually do to fix something like this. I don't know if I want to spend the $500 deductible with my insurance to have a $2K insurance job done on it.

My guy never charges me a deductible. I'm sure there's a shop that can help you out. Depending on how hard they hit you, there may be some unseen damage.

Look into dent repair places. Most detail shops and high-end shops will have recommendations.
