Tech. Question

Hey guys,

I travel alot and leave my car for long periods of time in a secure garage. But I came across an individual who said that there is actually a motion sense camera that is run on battery power. It's not actually hard wired and can simply be removed and pictures put on to your computer. Apparently the camera can be put anywhere. Any of you guys heard of this ?

Does anyone ever have luck with having police look at camera footage? I've had images twice of perps, in each case I was told "We don't have time for stuff like that," the last being a verbatim quote from a police department in OC.

Not sure if this would be helpful to you but I have a foscam wifi camera in my garage and I believe they do have battery packs you can get for these.. but you'd still need wifi which i'm not sure if you would have in the garage.

it records motion and can email you pics every time motion is detected. not exactly what you wanted but this has the added benefit of having access to it from anywhere with internet.

Well I think any major city with tens of thousands of people will garner the same response with police.

The only thing I can think of is a dashcam that is plugged into an external battery. Maybe you could rig a camera onto a external battery pack? Or a wireless IP camera installed into your garage. If you think about it, any dash cam of reasonable size with a built in battery would not last longer than a day.

Same here.

They told me they have only time for rape and murder.

And I asked them but if I don't stop on a stop sign why do 10 police cars arrive at the same time?

He said well it's different

Off topic, but yesterday some weird cop in a Victoria took a picture of the rear of my car with his iPhone after I passed him. I saw it in the rear mirror. I wonder why... creepy.
