OK, so you've convinced me

Hey guys,

Fitted the new rims and they look Hawt Damn! Friggin seriously suit the car and make the lime green callipers just pop!

Now I've finally decided to drop it a little - not much as the roads over here are not always the best and I'm running a 295 on the rear now so am limited as to how much I can drop it on the back. I'd imagine 1cm at most so don't even know if it's worth it. With the 295, there's no spare space between the top of the rubber and the arch anyway so may keep it as stock.

I am thinking about dropping the front by about an inch. My question is two fold - is an inch a good drop and is it OK to drop the front but keep the back as stock? I'd imagine yes but wanted your professional input before beginning with this.

Thanks,
Sam

1 inch drop is perfect.. my H&R dropped .75 inch all around & I'm happy with it.

And BIG NO on the front drop only. Do all the way around, or stay stock.

No pics of the new wheels installed? I call BS ... j/k LOL

I guess that means I have to stay stock. If I drop on the rear anymore than 1cm, it's gonna rub. A 295 tire is massive - even with a 31 offset wheel, it's near touching on the inside. Fitted the 305 and it touched by a few mm. I may need to put a 3mm spacer on.

So I guess I will leave the front looking high then. The 295 fills the rear arches very nicely.

Re: shots - getting round to it. Got a few more things lined up re: mods and will then get it clean and out for some photos.

I'm now looking at headers but damn there's so many and some for $300 and some for $2000? Any advice?

Thanks buddy, I will look that up.

I am doing a bit more foiling work. Replacing the side carbon fiber bumper vents (scratched) and then cleaning this monster up and taking it out to do a shoot.

Photos coming soon

One other question:

Is there a paint quality / temp good enough that will allow me to neatly paint my exhaust tips black?

Thanks

OK So i had a closer examination of my car and with the offset I am running up front and a 245, I cannot do a drop. I will need to fit a 235 to do the drop and that will only happen when I need new fronts.

Photos of the 295 being fitted:

295 vs and old, old 255

Sorry bud but I cannot answer that. It came like this when I got it. All I know is that it was dropped off to a Porsche and Maserati specialist out here and they were asked to extend it 40 or 45mm - even the owner cannot remember which. He got it back 5 days later with the work done and $1500 approximately paid for the work.

I am not sure if they just modified the existing fenders or put new ones on. What I do know is the height and thickness is exactly the same as OEMs so I guess they added some material or put completely new panels.

I was wrong, the previous owner just confirmed. The existing fenders were cut, pulled and primed.

Yeah buddy

On the rear I can put anything from a 28 to a 54 but the 54 limits the size of the tire I can fit (well ok 275 fits but I like bigger ).

On the front, currently on a 30 and it sticks out from the fender by a few mm at the largest place (that's with a 245). Will put a 235 when they wear and do a drop
