I think there were 32Ks on our car. I told the Dealer that I did not want ANY machine buffing on the car.....I mean it was only manufactured a day or so before it went on the boat, never sat in the sun/weather etc, anywhere, so the paint should be "New"....so why would it need a heavy buff.
So, that's what they did...a light hand polish....and our paint is fine.....but it's Palladium......I guess if ya've got black (which I would NEVER have), then ya could have a few more issues.

Cars.com searches usually reveal pics of the odometer. Ones I've seen have ~10 miles showing. My car was built on the 14th and on a boat on the 15th, so I am not expecting too much "test" mileage.

No special treatment for AMG's. That is a load. Like all MB's they are PDI'd upon arrival at the dealer which includes usually 3-4 test miles. Off the truck the cars usually have about 1-2 miles.

I think they like to take a little joyride in the car -- that's what the "testing" is all about.

Can't say I blame them, I would probably do the same if I worked in a car dealership.
It's a pretty brutal environment in which to labor.

I picked it up with about 50 miles. Drove it home and took this pic.
(Hope it has attached). Then I realized it had 14 hrs on the clock.
It was driven from another dealer, so I can understand the miles,
But 14 hrs? Looking at the average mpg and mph (4.9 mpg and 4 mph), I'm hoping I was idling for a long long time. Still can't figure what happened here.
Being it was delivered from another dealer, I never got an answer from my dealer. The car runs strong with no probs yet.

May I ask why under 12? And yea I understand that they want to take it for a drive but telling me that they need to do tests that can go up to 200km specifically for amg's isn't nice of them.

This is only my second car purchase.
My first was 13 years ago when I bought my jetta and it had only 4 miles on it.

AMGs are one of the few exciting cars that the salespeople ever have a chance to drive, but I was hoping they wouldn't touch mine -- 12 miles was just some arbitrary limit I chose that would make me feel like they didn't screw around with my car.

The other possibility is the detail people.

From my current perspective, I can say if I worked in a dealership, I would never screw around in anybody's car, but that's from my current perspective, that of a new car owner.

Most of these guys don't drive around in AMGs, and they are likely desensitized by seeing new cars on a daily basis. The employees who may lean away from joyriding are nevertheless likely influenced by their work peers, for whom driving a C63 is some type of fantasy experience, or at a minimum, an extremely exciting experience.

Back to your question: our cars are driven around a testing track in Germany I believe, after which the odometers are reset.
So it's really no big deal.
I haven't had any problems with my car and it's going on almost 8 months now...

Well when I asked why my car had so many Km's on it, they tried finding a reason to tell me and the "testing" was their best way to distract me. 116km is a lot for a brand new car.. Hopefully it looks good when I receive it!

Find a different dealership. $500 for a wax job is insane, no matter what fancy name they give it. Platinum sealant? Really?

As for the delivery mileage, these cars a built to take a beating. I wouldn't be too worried about it. Mine came with 27 miles on the ODO. I think I was too excited to drive the car off the lot to even care.

I know thats exactly what I told them, I can't get away from it because it's included to the shipping cost.

24 km on mine , was pissed too, they should have less than 10, loading and getting fuelled up, not the biggest deal though.

When people say they don't got issues on a new car, you don't start seeing issues on a strong engine like this for hopefully years down the road, not when she's got less than 50 k

I was told once, and it kinda makes sense, that a new car puts a few miles on the clock going up the final stages of the production line at the factory ie after the drive train is fitted etc. It then gets driven off the production line and driven around to get a few of the last little jobs done (programme keys, upload software like maps, final quality control checks etc). And then there must be some sort of post production drive to check the thing has no major driveline and suspension issues. All of this before it leaves the factory, then you have more driving for loading/unloading on car transporters and up docks and onto ships etc. Soon adds up I reckon

That is the way I see it.

some of it is dealers some of it is mb. I've pdi'd cars with as little as 3 miles on them and I've pdi'd them with 150miles fresh off the truck. they used to leave notices from benz that say the car was selected for quality control and tested thoroughly. I was alittle irritated when i got a sls in with 70 miles on it, fresh off the truck from the port. I would've liked to have a notice in that one, but luckily the owner didnt seem to mind. so dont think your necessarily getting screwed by crappy people its not always the case.

Sorry to say but this is horse****, 150 miles on a brand new vehicle from the production plant, I'd like to think not! Maybe you and your buddies put that note in their after you went for a rip !

i didnt know you pdi'd cars? I never said it was an amg, but ofcourse 150miles on a c230 thats different right ? because amg would never do that. I'll let you know for sls training we were working on presold customer cars at school before they released them for delivery. But you know everything. Everyone is out to get you, rag on your car and do things it was designed to do?

All those per delivery miles will be a wash after your first valet.

I always demand a limit on as-delivered mileage before signing the contract. Car dealers sometimes use any new car on the lot for undocumented test rides by prospective customers. That can result in abusive treatment and hidden engine damage that may not show up until after the warranty expires. Don't expect anonymous try-out drivers to scrupulously read and heed any break-in cautions in the owner's manual. They won't.

Car companies don't spend a dime more than necessary in moving new product around. Your as-delivered mileage should be less than 25 unless you agree to having a new car driven to your dealer from another dealer location. In that case, mileage will depend on the distance between dealers. You will be getting an almost-new car in that case.

I met the transport truck at the dealer.

I unpacked it. I did not have them wash it. There was no "AMG test drive."

8 miles on it when I drove out.
