Raw materials. They are cut and powdercoated here.

So I still dont have my wheels and am considering cancelling my order and going for something else if I dont receive a different update (I keep getting 1 wheel failed QC multiple times) by Monday. What are your guys thoughts? Anything monoblock and concave around the 3K price range? Thanks.

Idiots really Pi*S me off. No of course it's not apples to apples. Building wheels take a day (I know, I am in the wheel business) and building cars takes much longer so any fool trying to say building wheels takes 3 wks let alone 10 wks are just out right mentally challenged. Unless of course they're connected to the guys who gave false promises and lies. Hope that's not you.

You are being quite ignorant. Can wheels be built in one day and finished? Sure if they HAVE 0 orders and drop EVERYTHING they are doing just to work on that one set of course it can be done. I own one of the largest Powder coating companies in the NYC/NJ area and right now my turn around time is about two weeks. Does it take two weeks to finish someones parts? No it takes no longer then a day. But when I have 12 sets of wheels and a bunch of other work. There becomes a wait. Now if he was told 3-4 weeks and its 10 with still nothing, thats absolutely unacceptable so I am not saying it is right. However you cant say it should take a week for them to do all of that. BTW all of the ones I have seen (I have refinished a few sets of forgestar wheels) are actually NOT forged they are CAST and im sure they are being made overseas just like every other company that produces cast wheels.

Sajun, u should have cancelled long ago when they told u 1 wheel didn't passed QC. U still have no wheels to show for as a new customers after 10 weeks.. Trust me, u will never get serviced if u have a warranty claim once they arrive. (I.e problem with that 1 wheel finish)

if they are cut and finished in the usa who does the work? i was told they are start to finish in china then shipped to the usa. the set i have took 9 weeks and the build quality was very good but the powdercoat and polish was substandard. my local shop does ten times better work. outgassing pockets and orange peel all over all 4 wheels

Flow Formed is the same as Rotary Forged and they have a few other names for the process. They are not true forged wheels but an upgrade from strength/quality of cast wheels.

The raw materials come in from overseas but the CNC work and powdercoating are done in the U.S.

Agreed. The powder work was terrible. One set I had to refinish the clear as literally flaking right off

I'm pretty sure these are completely made in China....

Their factory is right beside my buddy's factory along with the Seibon factory.

If you are not in a rush just give them another month or two. People can be so impatient!

I don't think it's about being in a rush.. It's more about being promised 4 weeks & now it's 10 weeks + .. and they kept giving OP the same excuses over & over again about problems with 1 of the 4 wheels finishes.

for me the build quality was fine. the finish quality was another issue altogether. the color to me was more gray not silver and i found outgassing pockets on all 4 wheels.tiny pinholes but there. also all 4 wheels had orange peel which can be polished or wet sanded out on powdercoated wheels. they should have polished the wheels raw THEN powdercoated them. didnt happen.

i waited close to 10 weeks also and had sold the prior wheels so i couldnt send them back. just installed them and over the winter they will be refinshed properly

I ordered a set of CF5's a month ago and they are apparently going to be here in 2 weeks. I'm a bit nervous now. Also gonna definitely look them over very well before taking delivery of them.

Luckily i bought my CF10 off a member's hands so I didn't experience any of these order issues. As well I'm pretty satisfied with the quality of the wheels.
But yeah i do understand your pain! 4 weeks is damn long so 10 weeks is worse. I think i would have canceled by now but again it's easy to say when you are not in the situation.
Hopefully you'll get your wheels mounted this week end

guys, the problem vaclav has would be the fact that 3 of the wheels were done together and one by itself. I would be worried aswell.

When I called (on Saturday) the Local shop here I ordered from (Allen @ SimplyTire) they told me that they were unsure why the wheels are still at the powder coater's and were going to inquire......

I know Allen will be on it and give me a good update. Im just curious as to why its taking so long from Forgestar's end. There have been other members who ordered the same size wheels in a different finish a little later than I did and they already arrived!

I got my CF10's last year from Allen @ Simply. Got gloss gunmetal and I love them...but that new colour looks amazing...if it ends up being too dark for you, I'll swap you .

I waited 12 weeks for my Forgestar F14s in custom brushed finish with gunmetal. I will never order wheels from them every again - customer service and communication was horrible - and I got all of the same excuses from them on QC, this, that and the third.

Great wheels though one wheel had a slight blemish in the clearcoat, otherwise I was very happy with the quality and strength.

Since I've sold my C63, I'm going to put my wheels up for sale very shortly...with tires and TPMS.
