Funny Smog Test Problem w/ Eurocharged Tune
I had to get a California smog test today and I had the Eurocharged stock tune on my car. Part of the sniffer test requires the RPM to be held between something like 2250-2700 for 30 seconds. But, at any point between that range the ECU would automatically start increasing RPM regardless of pedal position. I swear the effen tech burned a gallon of gas trying to keep the RPM's there. Then I tried it and sure enough, not possible. RPM's would automatically run into the 3K range within seconds.
Thankfully I had my trusty MyGenius programmer in the trunk and flashed it back to factory and finished the test myself no problem. Needless to say the tech double checked the rest of my car for modifications after seeing me flash my ECU.
For Californians with the Eurocharged tune who didn't pay to keep the programmer, this could make it impossible to complete the smog testing. You won't fail smog, you just wont be able to do it. Just an FYI for Eurocharged.
Good Times.
