Lowering C63 with coilovers questions

I am considering getting KW V3, will I need a camber kit to correct the camber when lowered?

also do KW v3 come with adjustable top mounts where I can change the caster/camber settings?

I want a drop, but I also dont want to ruin the handling as I still track my car, so I wanted to check if there is anything else I should install when I install coilovers!

You should not need a camber kit

You will need rear adjustable upper control arms to correct for too much camber after you drop it.

so bumping this thread real quick so i dont make another coilover thread.

I ordered KW v3 from vivid the other day...process was a breeze and Arsha is great to work with!

Has anyone done a DIY install? How hard is it. I've done coilovers on Hondas and they werent too bad, but I'm sure this is more complicated.

also I got quoted for a shop install of around 350, good price?

lastly, how do I determine how much lowering I want? (i havent got the kit yet, will it be in the instruction?)

thank you all

That price sounds about right.

When I did my V3's I got many quotes. Scan Automotive in North Van quoted me $1800 for install only!!!!! Ended up paying $350 at another shop. After watching them do the instal I would just pay to have it done. If you don't have access to a lift the job would be very frustrating. Make sure they double check the ride height before installing the coil overs. If your a little out it's a real pain to adjust the rear after the car is back together.

From what I've heard when I had my ride height adjusted, any tweak to the suspension for coilovers require the entire thing to be disassembled to adjust the height. Then you have to put everything back and let it settle before you get a true idea of the ride height. If you don't have the expertise or equipment, I would definitely pay to have it done. And the KW V3 is probably more complex than my suspension.

Set the fronts first as these are a major PIA to adjust. The backs are easy since they are not true coilovers. There is just an adjustment collar on top of the spring in place of the rubber pad. Either use a spring compressor to get to the collar or drop the lower control arm. Use a jack under as even at full drop there is spring tension. I had ACG in SD do it. They've done so many times they get the height correct on the first try.

hmm thanks for the advice guys, i may end up having the shop do it then...the only bad thing is seems like shops around me cant accommodate for 2 weeks! And i recieve the coils tomorrow....I'll look around some more. so just to clarify, once they are mounted, the front height cannot be changed but the rears can?

What shop is busy for 2 weeks? There isn't another shop you can go to?
