Having my new GT style CF hood installed this week and wanted to know if the recommendation for changing the hood shocks is legit? The seller says the original shocks could warp the new lighter hood. And if so, what is the best brand/part(s) to get?

I have similar hood been installed this week, manufactured by Seibon.
The shop, working on it, did not ask me about shocks or anything else, they probably going to use existing.
My only complaint about this hood, shown to me in the shop, that the edge at the left and right corners, where grid is installed, needs to work out. Since it is going to be painted except air intakes, I am fine with that
