Cruise Control Vibration
Hey guys, something weird started happening recently. Cruise control at 74mph, if I gas it to say 85, then let off, I will feel a lot of vibration until it gets back around the cruise control speed (74mph).
This doesn't happen if cruise control is off. Regular braking is normal. Not sure if it could be my rotors or pads, although I did have my pads replaced recently if that matters.
Any ideas?

warped rotors will only be an issue during braking. How old are your tires? how do they look? cupping/feathering - what brand? Possibly blown or collapsed engine and transmission mounts can cause excessive vibrations.

Tires are pretty new, I'd say not even 2k on them yet. Michelin PSS.
The thing I'm not sure about is I only have the vibration when cruise control is on, going back to 74mph from ~85mph.
With cruise control off, I do not experience the issue at all, braking, accelerating or decelerating, at any speed.

Does the vibration sound as though it comes from the center top of the dashboard behind the COMAND screen??? I thought it was speaker interference because I had the iPod connected to AUX port but its not that....everything else you mention is exactly the same I have.
Mine does the same thing and still trying to get to the bottom of it, MB tech has been in the car 3 times and still can't work it out yet...if I find out before you I'll let you know.

im bettings its the engine and trans mounts. You probably accelerate harder and arent as smooth so you dont really notice it. take it in to a dealer they should have no problem duplicating
