Carbon Fiber Shifter from formymercedes
Hello all,
I just got my CF shift knob from Jerry at formymercedes.com and thought I would do a quick little review of it with some pictures since there was slim pickins when I ordered mine.
First off, communication with Jerry is awesome, quick to respond to emails and get it in the mail. Great service
The shifter itself is of great quality. The weave matches the CF OEM extremely well and fits as if it were glued on. There is no wiggle or anything to it. Install was easy after I pondered for a couple minutes after getting stuck. Prior to purchasing this one, I was looking at some others that were around the $300 range with exchange but couldn't justify it... For around $145 shipped and not worrying about breaking the clips on the stock one, there is not a better option out there.
I will let the pictures do the rest. I decided on the classic AMG after thinking I wanted to go with my stock star but this one just helped finish everything off.
Thanks!

Very nice.. And great deal!
I used to change all my shifters on my other cars, but for some reason i like the OEM leather on this car.

That looks great and I was talking with Jerry about getting one but he sort of scared me away with the install instructions.
Maybe i'll reconsider and get one anyway.

I have the same style as the OP but mine is in the black maple. Matches the stock Black Bird's Eye Maple well but I don't think it has an actual bird's eye in it and the secondary colour is more brown than the stock trim. Really looks good and I like the feel of it. Gerry is great to deal with.

Is the OEM shifter different from 08-11 models compared to 2012?
I personally want a CF shifter to match but I also really really life the way the OEM feels. I don't see why people don't like it unless they changed it.

Nice shifter Tim. How hard was the install.. And where u bought it from? I would rock the CF one.

I liked the tactile feel of the OE shifter also but trust me, you'll never look back whichever model you choose to replace it.

Here's my factory shift knob wrapped in CF with a custom machined insert.
Basically the CF replaces where the leather was.
Ivan at DCT Motorsports will gladly make you one.
