It wont. The high power figures are those cars' main selling points. Its getting to the point that all cars in this class have a ton of power, all have enough that is for sure. Who cares if the c63 doesnt have more, hell I hope it stays under the cts v and mustang range so that not everyone wants to buy one due power surpassing of the other two by the c63. Keep the mustang types in their mustangs. Either way its going to make 480+ so that it is above the 204 c63 with the ppp package and probably slightly over 507hp in order to top the oncoming 507 edition. These are just my concepts but who knows. You drive a c63 even if it comes factory with less hp than competitors bc you like the class of it, the superior build quality and tasteful interior, the respect for amg and the performance they craft, the beauty of the car while being aggressive and race inspired while still practical and beautiful

Okay, thanks. That sucks. The more competition the better.

Yes and no, I drive it because of all those things (except for the less power thing, that's just silly) AND because it comes with 481hp, 0-60 <4 seconds, and high 11 second 1/4 mile. If it came with 400hp and no ability to get it close to or over 500 I would be shopping elsewhere. Think about the C55 and CLK55 (which I owned), they were treated as second class to the Kompressor's until the 63 motor was installed in '07/'08, then people took notice. To stay relevant the next C63 should have at least 500hp, either standard or optional.

I agree. I think the TT 4.0 in the next C63 will be around 480hp stock and maybe the PP version will take that power to 515 or so.

Also I must say that I am very impressed with the performance of the 2012/13 C63s. If the Hi-po version of that car can run 11.9 @ 118-119 stock then the 2015 4matic version will probably run mid 11.6 @ 121-123 stock. That's super impressive if you ask me. The E63 is now a low 11 second car at probably 125-127 mph stock.

Well yes I drive it for the performance of course. Otherwise I wouldnt, but the other mentioned reasons help distinguish it from a mustang or cts. Personally I cannot stand cadillacs. I hope and believe that the 2015 will come it around 515hp.

Will you buy this car is it comes with 4Matic only. As most of you probably already know, the upcoming C63 will come with a twin turbo 4.0 V8 that is said to be basically two A45 AMG 2.0T motors merged together. By looking at the kind of performance Audi is getting out of their 4.0TT engine I have no reason to not believe AMG will not only match, but exceed that performance.

Check out the link: http://www.motorauthority.com/news/1...ter-v-8-report

Copy & Pasted from Motorauthority below:
Just as its rivals downsize to high-performance fours and sixes, AMG is reportedly working on a brand new V-8, albeit one smaller than we’re used to seeing from the official tuner to Mercedes-Benz.

The new engine is said to be a turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8, destined for the upcoming 2015 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG as well as a new SLC sports car.

According to Autocar, the engine is a further development of the new turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder developed by AMG for its future compact car range. In the upcoming A45 AMG and CLA45 AMG models, this 2.0-liter mill will deliver more than 330 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque.

The 4.0-liter V-8, meanwhile, should deliver more than 450 horsepower in its base form. Higher states of tune could see the engine pumping out closer to 600 horses!

It will replace the current naturally-aspirated 5.5-liter V-8 found in the SLK55 AMG in AMG’s future, turbocharged engine hierarchy: the 2.0-liter forms the base and is followed by this new 4.0-liter V-8. Further up the ladder is the 5.5-liter V-8 and 6.0-liter V-12 found in a number of current AMG models.

Sadly, it looks like AMG's venerable 6.2-liter V-8 (pictured above) is on its way out.

If the report proves accurate, look for the 4.0-liter V-8 to debut in the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG due out next year.
Your "idea/comment" about the new 4.0 V8 being like two A45 AMG "put together" is the most absurd thing I ever heard. The two engines are absolutely different in every way, even the way they can be mounted.

typically the 4 cyl would be mounted side ways and the V8s are mounted longitudinal (straight). No, the 4.0 V8 will not be anything near "two" 2.0 CLA45 AMG put together. The only thing even close is just the displacement figure, nothing more

Your right and i should not have been so literal about that. I was just making the point that the bhp output of the 4.0 TT will be similar to two 2.0 T merged together. I know 4 cylinders engines only come in inline configuration and this V8 is in a V configuration. Now that I said that, can I get my engine/car talk card back? Lol

You can borrow mine, I never use it out of fear of getting slammed by an accidental wording error.

I saw an interview with an amg guy where he ruled out 4wd for the c63. He said the c63 was more aggressive and therefore 4wd was not appropriate.

Well if that is true then that will be unfortunate. It should at least be an option.
