Anyone tried Toyo R888 in 275/40/18?

Hi guys,

Looking at putting R888s on my stock 18s for the drags.

I would prefer 275/35/18 but there are none available at the moment.

Has anyone tried the R888s in 275/40/18 or should I just go 265/35/18?

Thanks.

Charlie

i'm running Advan AD08's in a 285/30/18 with H&R Coils maxed out even with full passangers no rubbing.

you should be fine with 275s wanted R888s but couldn't find any in stock so settled for the AD08s

I might try out the 275/40s then and see how I go.

Bigger sidewall and wider track should make for some good 60ft times.

Maybe I used them all up? Hard to believe that there are not a pair out there for you somewhere. And for whatever reason, the 35s are much cheaper than the 40s. Have you tried Tread Depot?

I am in Australia and wanted them for tomorrow nights drags.

I ended up going 265/35/18 as the 275/40/18 have a 1in taller sidewall compared to the 285/30/18 and didnt want to risk it.

Thanks for the help guys.

Are you going to be at Eastern Creek? You are in Sydney right? Try Fulvio at Spinning Wheel Tyres. They had a pair of Pirelli Pzero 305s just lying around work shop for my CLK BS so they might have what you need. They have some unusual inventory

Sounds good, come say hi if you see me, always good to meet fellow forum members. You won't miss me, I'll be the only Black C63 (per facelift) with black 19" multispokes on the front and stock 18s on the back.

Will do Brad, hoping to get into the 11.6s, which I should be able to do. Got the semis slicks on this time and going to take out the spare for a bit of weight reduction.

Yeh going to Eastern Creek, come down if you can, would be nice to meet you and see one of your beauties. Thanks, I'll keep that in mind for next time, I picked up some 265/35s today so hopefully they will do the trick.

Ok so not much luck tonight, got an 11.8 again but definitely room for improvement. My 60ft times were a little worse, still under 2 seconds, just need to practise to get the best launch.

Only got a couple of runs as there was a minor accident on the track, noone injured but took almost 2 hours to get it cleaned up.

If its not raining ill try again next week.

Yeh, got a 120mph and a 121mph but the 60ft was 1.90 and 1.98.

I think I can get it around 11.6-11.7 if I get my launch better.
