i don't know what it is about the stock resonator and mufflers but when added with LTH, they are LOUD... i switched to a topspeed pro 1 exhaust system and it significantly quieted down everything... but at least i won't be as embarrassed in the winter like i used to be...

2009 C63 AMG - 2011 ML350 Bluetec
I don't drive it during winter, I'm in Montreal ... we have real winters!
Sound is fairly quiet under 2500 rpm so it isn't too bad in residential areas and cops haven't bothered me yet.
Anyone with a C63 should consider LTH, it makes a huge difference and I only get thumbs up from people on the road. Nobody expects a Mercedes to sound like that.
