Is our ECU plug and play?

Ok so everything is in the subject. Can i swap my ECU with one coming from another C63 ? Will this work?
Or do I need to get it reprogrammed for my car (VIN) ?

ECUs are VIN coded to the car. You must have it programmed at a dealer to the car first, then you can tune it.

If you need an extra ECU I have two for sale.

When you say "programmed by the dealer" does it mean install a stock file?
For example the ECU you have for sale have a tune on it? Will it erase the tune?
How friendly are the dealers to do this or the question is will they do it?

if its already coded to another car previously, unless a tuner can wash the vin your s.o.l. dealers can only program new/unmated ecu's. Yes in most cases when a dealer programs the ecu it will require new scn coding and software updates which will also wipe out the tune.

A better idea is to get a handheld flash tuner. It will hold multiple performance tunes and your stock tune to change as you need.
